This is my final design.
These images are ones I have played around with on photoshop, I have cleared and sharpened the images as well as changing the colours. Personally I think the very last image is the best because it captures the brightness and prominence of the word blood and the segment of blood, and also the colours really stand out for me, but not too much as some of the brighter tests do.
The final shots of the shark installation. I am really happy with these as they have turned out well and are lit perfectly. All that's left to do is to choose a final shot
These are my lettering tests. To start with I drew out the words and initially I thought that it would be best to pick out a few words to highlight them. Then I decided to accentuate the more important and prominent words and shrink the other words in the sentence. Next I decided to pick out the four words I had been drawing attention to and decided to try various designs and colours. I thought the best colours to represent each word was; red for blood, grey for the shark, blue for water and green for million. I chose these in this way because I thought each colour symbolises what the words mean. After this I decided to try cutting out the words in paper, I feel these worked well but I was more intrigued with how the four cut outs looked together simultaneously. This led me to think further about combining the words into one, so then I drew pencil drawings of the words intertwining. However I felt these were a bit obvious so then I decided to put all four words inside the shark silhouette. The first few of these designs were coming out well so i decided to do more of them and develop them to how I envisioned them looking. The last one is perfect because I think the word blood sitting at the front perfectly describes the fact itself because at the front of the head is where the shark smells blood.
This is my final design, all that is left to do now is text tests before adding it to the piece
From each of the three different lightings I picked the two best photos. When all of the three tones are put up against each other it is clear to see the obvious difference between the three. I think of the three I'm picking the second one because I really like the tones in it, especially the lighter ones which hit the lower segments. I also really like how the more salient top segments draw you're eyes in to the middle where the shark is
These pieces have more light on the subject, and the composition is good also, however I feel that the previous slightly darker interpretations worked better because it felt more atmospheric
In these images I lit it again from above but positioned it as such so it would make both the shark and the other segments more obvious. I think this has worked well but I want to try it with even more light on the subject.
