Week #2 - Brainstorming and creating
Mind map and image association
This week I played around with developing ideas for my beverage brand. The first idea I came up with was for a kombucha brand called ‘Fairy.’ The slogan for my brand is ‘Magic to your gut.’ For a while I played around with researching kombucha brands and flavours. I then brainstormed words that relate to fairies and the feeling you get when you drink kombucha. I also brainstormed words relating to the desired target market and different flavours my kombucha could come in. to create my own 5 original kombucha flavours. Below is my mind map as well as my image association.
The ingredients for my kombucha will be based off the Ingredients in Remedy kombucha.
Ingredients: Certified organic raw kombucha (sparkling water, wild kombucha culture, black tea*, green tea*), natural sweeteners (erythritol* and steviol glycosides*)
Fairy Kombucha flavours: Luxurious lavender and chamomile, Soothing strawberry and basil, elegant espresso and sugar, charming cherries and plum, heavenly honey and lemon
Experimenting with logo design
I then began to sketch up a few different brand logos that incorporated different elements such as the bubble writing, the fairy wand letter ‘I’, the fairy wings as well as the words ‘kombucha co’ and ‘est 2020′
I believe the logo in the bottom left is the best one as it is more gender neutral and can be aimed towards many different target markets. I do like this brand concept so far but I am still keeping my eyes open to new brand concepts.
IDEA 1: sell the craft, the ‘magic’, the delicacy
- impressionist style art for the label
IDEA 2: sell the flavours/the experience
- bright artificial colours
- focus on images of fruit, flowers, coffee, honey etc
- contemporary branding strategy
