Whenever I mention that root beer is my favourite soft drink somebody always remarks that they hate it because of the medicinal aftertaste, but, like, is that not the appeal? The fact that it tastes like you're drinking some dubious nostrum purchased from the back of a brightly painted horse-cart driven by a top-hatted man whose moustache could cut glass is 100% what I'm here for.
