The League could tolerate a lot of things—monsters trying to conquer planets, crazy villains trying to rule the city—but there was something that was almost out of bounds and had everyone on the verge of exploding.

The strange situation that your two most beloved members of the league had, you and Flash.

This started shortly after you were separated into groups on a mission, and no one knows exactly what happened between you two for you to start acting like this ever since, even none of you seemed to know what was going on between you, or maybe you did and you found it fun or even foreplay between the two of you.

In every meeting, in every training session, every moment the League common room filled up again, the tension between you was palpable. And not the classic tension of a team under pressure, but one that bordered on uncomfortable for everyone except the two of you.

Barry would throw you quick glances filled with a special sparkle, and you would respond with a smile that could have been a joke, but sometimes felt too real. When one of you would throw out a double entendre, the other would answer without hesitation, as if the game had no end, and the others expected it to end soon. His flirting was terrible.

Flash was going over some stats from the last mission and you were standing next to him, looking at him with a crooked smile, until you spoke.

"You know," you finally commented, in such a light tone that it was impossible to tell if he was joking or not, "if I were a villain, I would run away just to see you running after me."

Barry let out a short laugh, turning to face you. His eyes were shining. “Who says I’d catch you?” he replied, inching closer. “Maybe I’d let you get away so I’d have an excuse to chase you again, but I could catch you fast if you wanted. I’ve been working on my legs a lot.”

You turned your gaze down again to observe her wide thighs covered in her flashing red suit so you could check her words, even if it wasn't necessary. "It's true, you have such big thighs Flash."

An awkward silence fell over the room. Victor, who was at the console, raised his eyebrows without looking away from his screen. "…Well, that was very specific."

Diana, from across the room, looked up from her reports and frowned. “Are you really doing this here?”

You and Barry exchanged another knowing look, ignoring the comments, and continued talking to each other.

Barry leaned towards you slightly, lowering his voice as if he wanted it to be for your ears only. “If you want, I can prove it to you later… at the training ground, of course.”

"Sure, I'd love to see you working out," you replied, standing up from your seat. "I need to work out too, but I need some cardio first."

Diana exhaled, dropping her pen onto the table. “Are we really going to keep pretending this is ‘just a game’?”

Victor snorted and shook his head, continuing to type. "You're like those coworkers the whole office knows are dating, but you insist on denying it."

Barry turned to him with an innocent smile. “We’re not dating.”

"That's right" you supported him, tapping him on the arm. "Have you never seen two friends talking?"

Hal looked at them both seriously, as if he was thinking hard about something to say. “Can you guys, I don’t know, fuck each other and be normal?”

You and Barry froze for a second after Hal's words. It was as if the whole room had stopped.

Victor stopped typing and looked at him as if he'd just uttered the most inappropriate phrase of the year. "…Man, wow."

Diana closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Hal… really, you do exceed my expectations sometimes… but not in a good way.”

Barry cleared his throat, visibly blushing. "That's... uh... not..." he stammered, looking for a way out of the hole Hal had just dug.

You, on the other hand, smiled amusedly. "Hal Jordan, trying to solve interpersonal problems? I think you should apply your advice to your love life, Hal, not our friendship."

Hal raised his hands, as if he hadn't said anything wrong. "Hey, I'm just saying what everyone's thinking. I just want to help."

Arthur, who had been biting his tongue to keep from laughing, finally burst out laughing. "I can't believe I agree with him."

Barry looked back at you, and though he tried to maintain his composure, there was a glimmer in his eyes that said he wasn't as upset by the comment as he pretended. "Anyway," he said, standing next to you, "I think I'll go train now."

"Perfect," you replied with a half smile, "I also need to train a little, it would be good for me to be more agile on patrol, I need to relax a little."

And as you both walked out together, leaving behind a group of heroes who were both shocked and resigned to the new awkward situation you had managed to force them through.

Barry Allen was running like lightning. Cisco decided to test Barry's speed by making him run as fast as he could.

The leaves of the trees swayed as he passed, leaving everything in disarray along the way. Barry didn't care if he was going too fast, until a crack opened in front of him and he couldn't stop.

The speedstet was thrown to the wet grass ground. He quickly stood up and looked around, wondering if it was to the past or the future. Everything was normal.

Barry noticed that there were some buildings in places that were once houses and assumed that he was in the future. He knew he couldn't risk changing the future, but he was curious.

He was surprised to see the name “Allen” engraved on the mailbox of a large house. The house was white and had three floors. He approached, seeing that on the porch of the house there was a swing and a dog house with the name “Grant” engraved on it.

Barry questioned whether he actually read the right name on the mailbox. He didn't have much time to think before a big, fat dog ran towards him, knocking Flash to the ground. The dog caught him off guard.

The animal began to lick his face, making him laugh. Barry carefully pushed the dog away, standing up.

“Sit down!” He said to the dog and to Barry's surprise, the animal obeyed and sat down on the grass. The dog wagged its tail and seemed very happy.

Flash heard laughter coming from the door. He looked up and let out an exclamation of surprise when he saw that Y/N was standing in front of the door, arms crossed.

“I thought you wouldn't be back until tomorrow. Cisco called saying you had an accident in Star City.” Y/N said, walking towards Barry.

The man tried to find words to respond to his friend, but was petrified when he received a kiss from his childhood friend.

The woman ran her hand through Barry's brown hair and looked at him tenderly. Flash noticed that she had a beautiful ring on her fingers. She got married.

Y/N kissed Barry again, leaving him in a state of panic. The brunette never thought about kissing his friend, since he was in love with Iris.

“Let's go. Benjamin and Anastasia are alone long enough to set the house on fire.” Y/N said, pulling the speedster's hand to force him into the house.

“Benjamin and Anastasia?” He asked, frowning. Who were these people?

“Are you going to say you forgot your children's names?” Y/N asked in a playful tone. Barry opened his mouth in shock.

Flash barely had time to say anything. Two small and cute bodies collided with Allen. They were children.

Benjamin and Anastasia they are kids. Barry and Y/N's children.

Flash opened his mouth but couldn't say a word. He looked at the kids who had Y/N's hair color and Barry's green eyes.

The boy looked a lot like Barry and had a very sweet smile. The girl looked like a beautiful princess.

“Daddy!” The girl said, extending her hand for Barry to take it. The speedster wondered if he should pick the girl up, but after Anastasia pouted at him, Barry grabbed the girl and gave her a big hug.

Barry had children. He started a family.

It wasn't with Iris as he imagined, but Y/N seemed to love him so intensely that it was clear there was a lot of love.

“Daddy. Ben, my mom and I made chocolate cake.” Anastasia said. Her voice was soft and sweet. Barry almost cried when the girl laid her head on his shoulder.

“Mom let me make the frosting with the mixer.” Benjamin, who looked to be two years older than Anastasia said, smiling proudly.

“It must be delicious.” Barry said smiling at the boy. The boy hugged Allen's leg.

The two children dragged Barry into the kitchen and made the speedster eat many pieces of cake and a pitcher of juice that Benjamin prepared. It was sour, but Barry enjoyed every drop to make the boy happy.

The house was big and warm. Barry couldn't tell if it was hot because of the heater or if it was because of the family that lived there. The kitchen of the house had a large blackboard glued to the counter where it indicated what needed to be bought at the market and who would wash the dishes that day.

Barry loved everything. It seemed strange at first, but now it was an incredible future. For the first time in his life, Barry felt that everything would work out in the end.

He thought the children were normal, that they weren't speedsters. But the moment Y/N dropped a glass, Benjamin ran like lightning and didn't let the object fall to the floor.

“Are you a speedster?” Barry asked with a face full of surprise.

“Of course my love.” Y/N said, emphasizing “my love”. In the present, she always called Barry ‘Allen’ or some stupid nickname. Barry liked to be called ‘my love’. “Our babies are just like you. Even though Anastasia hates running”

“I prefer to walk.” The girl said. It was the cutest sight Barry had ever seen. The little girl had a teddy bear on her lap and used a toy spoon to give the teddy bear some imaginary food.

“You look strange, dad.” Benjamin said. The boy was focused on a portable video game and barely looked at the people at the table.

“Seriously, Barry. Are you well? “ Y/N asked her husband. She noticed that the speedster was dazed and looked strange. “Children, can you keep the cake in the fridge and then go play in your bedrooms?”

“Yes mom.” The kids said at the same time. Benjamin used his super speed to put the cake in the refrigerator and went to his bedroom. Anastasia preferred to walk like a normal human being.

Y/N took Barry to the living room. The fireplace was lit for winter and some toys were lined up in the hallway. The dog that Barry assumed was family was lying on the couch with its belly up.

“What happened, Barry?” She asked as soon as Barry sat down in the room. She noticed that her husband seemed to have never set foot in the house and was looking at everything like a curious visitor.

“Anything. It's okay, honey.” Allen tried to sound convincing.

“Barry, I wanted to tell you something.” Y/N sat on Barry's lap, leaving him perplexed. The speedster stood as still as a statue as the woman placed a long kiss on his lips. “Do you like having two children?”

“Obviously. Ben and Ana are amazing kids.” Barry said, trying to sound like the father they know.

“Then I think you'll love having three children even more!” Y/N said, with watery eyes. She took a box out of her pocket and Barry recognized it as a pregnancy test box. “I found out two days ago, but I was going to wait for you to get back from Star City.”

“Are you pregnant?” Barry asked.

“Yes. Caitlin thinks I have five weeks. It's still the size of a bean, but I already love it so much.” Y/N said, rubbing her belly.

Y/N was surprised to receive a hug from her husband. Barry was shaking and seemed surprised, something strange since he already has two children.

Allen had tears in his eyes and Y/N returned the hug, laying her head on his shoulder.

“Thank you, Y/N.” Barry thanked him. “Thank you for being my family and for giving me three incredible children. You are perfect.”

“You gave it to me, Barry. You played an important role in creating them.” She said laughing. Flash was thinking about how weird it would be to have sex with his best friend. Barry had known Y/N since elementary school and had never thought of her in a romantic way.

Now, Barry envied future Barry, who had perfect children and a beautiful woman who loved him. The Flash hoped this was his future.

“How did we start dating?” The man asked, trying not to sound rude and irritate the woman.

“You were almost killed by a villain and I realized I loved you. But Iris also realized that she loved you. It took a long time for you to decide that you loved me and ask me to be your girlfriend.“ She explained laughing. “You're always quick, but you read a lot into some things.”

“Funny.” He said, squeezing Y/N's waist. Barry's cell phone rang and the woman got up from his lap, letting Flash pick up the phone and answer it.

“Dude, where are you? You were running and suddenly disappeared.” He heard Cisco say. Flash's friend was nervous.

“I'm coming, Cisco.” Barry said, then hung up without letting Cisco answer. “Y/N, I have to go. Cisco needs my help.”

“Sure honey.” Y/N said, giving her husband another kiss. “Come back early for dinner. Ben's notes arrived today and he wants you to see them at dinner time.”

“OK.” Barry looked closely at the woman and the house before heading to the door. This was a perfect future. “See you later, Y/N.”

“Save the world, Flash.” Y/N said, while stroking her own belly. Barry took one last look at Y/N before running to go back to the past.

Tears streamed down Barry's face as he ran. Barry always wanted to have a family and in the future he did, with a pet dog and warm hugs.

As soon as Barry returned to the present, he went straight to Star Labs. He knew that back then you were helping Caitlin take care of the imprisoned metahumans .

“Hey man, where were you?” Cisco asked as soon as Barry stopped in the middle of Star labs.

“I fainted during the race.” Flash lied, knowing he couldn't tell anyone about the future. “Where is Y/N?”

“She's giving lunch to the imprisoned metahumans. She always does this.”

Barry didn't respond to his friend. He ran straight towards Y/N.

She had a tray in her hand and was walking towards a prisoner's cell.

“Hello, Y/N.” Flash greeted the girl. She just looked at him and smiled, walking again. “I was thinking. We've been friends for a long time and we've never gone out to dinner just the two of us.”

“Why should you go out with Iris, your great unrequited love.” Y/N replied, making Barry grimace.

“Do you want to go out with me on Friday for dinner?” Barry invited his friend. She smiled, stopping walking and looking at the brunette.

“Since you insist so much, I agree to go out with you, Allen.” Y/N said, running her hand through Barry's hair. He smiled, thinking that it wouldn't be so bad to marry you in the future.

✘ Request: This might get complicated but can you do a Barry/grant imagine where Barry is trying to move on from iris (maybe they broke up or something) and he is either shown through Gideon or travels to our world where he sees the reader (singer actress) and grant have been together for awhile and are very happy so he tries to find the reader on his earth with the teams help

Things had been strained between Barry and Iris since the end of their engagement. They didn’t talk, they couldn’t stay in a room alone, and when their eyes met, before so demonstrative of love and admiration for each other, would just look away, making both people uncomfortable and any other human or metahuman around being able to feel the heavy breeze from the pressure in the air.

They loved each other, of course, they had loved each other since forever. And when they finally got together, Barry thought that maybe this time he had really won, maybe he'd gotten his happy ending, his peace.

Holy shit, how wrong he was.

Iris missed him more than anything, and so did he.

But it was clear that the Scarlet Speedster couldn’t say or show it more when Cisco entered excited on the cortex, saying that the future had changed. Iris would live. Savitar wouldn’t kill her.

''Actually, I saw her in the headlines. 'Iris West, the youngest Central City’s journalist to win a pultizer award, public an article about metahuman medicine, with help from her old  friend, Caitlin Snow.'’ Cisco spoke in a forced tone of journalist's newspaper's 7, smile never leaving the his face. "Guys, Iris is alive and Caitlin won’t turn into Killer Frost!"

‘’But what changed?’’ Julian asked, but no one could care about what event made the tragedy go away, the focus was clear: the worst thing won’t happen anymore.

‘’We won Savitar, I knew it! I knew it!’’ H.R said exltedly.

Joe hugged his daughter with tears in his eyes as Cisco hugged Caitlin and HR ran out screaming something about coffee and cake to celebrate the occasion.

As much as Barry's heart was relieved - Iris, the woman he loved, would live and have the success in journalism that she deserved! -  A persistent doubt struck the back of his head. Asking Iris to marry had not changed the future. Had breaking up with her done it?

Barry smiled at Iris as their gazes met, the first real smile from the end, she took a step toward him, and he could not help but try to reach her as well, but Caitlin hugged her just in time, happiness and relief filling the room.

Looking at the people that Barry Allen most loved in the world in such happiness, he couldn’t help but leave when no one was noticing and go to Gideon. Barry had to see if a certain event had reappeared.

His heart pounded, hoping he would continue with Iris, the girl he always wanted...

But he was not.

A solitary tear fell down the cheek of Central City’s hero.

It was surprising how he could save everyone but himself.

But it was okay, if his happy ending was Iris at least alive, Barry accepted that.

He loved her too much to be selfish.

It was 1 year and 6 months since Barry discovered he could not stay with Iris anymore. He was doing okay as much as possible. The thought that she would be alive made him try to move on, for Barry knew that if he didn’t, the West girl would die.

So the speedster was trying. The best he could, at least.

''This time, I'm 100% sure that the particle accelerator will not get you to another earth.'' Cisco said while putting the device in Barry's suit.

"100%?" Barry raised an eyebrow, doubting his friend's statement.

"Okay, maybe more to 89%," Cisco said as he moved to the computer. ''Or 67%...''

''Oh, great! ''

"Earth two?" Julian asked Caitlin, trying to find himself in the conversation.

"No, it's down to earth 4. It's where Supergirl came from." Caitlin explained.

"Who?" Julian asked confused as Caitlin began to gesture and explain about Team Flash's interdimensional travels and friends.

''Okay, get ready.'' Barry prepared to run, happy to do something that would always distract him from the world around him. ''1... 2... 3... Go! '' The Flash ran, leaving papers flying through the cortex, Caitlin rolled sighed and went to pick them up while Julian approached Cisco to see Barry's speed on the computer, until it simply disappeared.

''What was it?''

The Scarlet Speedster could feel in his breath that that oxygen was not that of his earth. He sighed and looked around, looking for some information on where he was or how to get help to get home.

As much as ''home'' was now all his relative happy, uncomfortable moments between him and Iris, the sure certainty that he would not have a happy ending and...

Barry shook his head from side to side, trying to hide his thoughts like someone throwing dirt under the rug. Time to gather information, find help, and go back to his earth.

The hero looked around again, he was on a street, one that seemed to belong only to the richest of any place. Hearing a loud noise as loud as hysterical screams, Barry glanced back, managing to see himself waving to a group of screaming people. Was that version of him famous?

He sped in the big place, looking twice, was a recording studio. The Flash sped through the room, studying everything until it found a trailer that contained clothes in his size.

Barry changed his clothes and grabbed a backpack, putting his uniform inside, starting to look around the trailer at human speed.

''Cool.'' A smile appeared on his face to see a photo of him with two more dogs, he always wanted dogs. Barry finally found a computer and searched for the name on the door of the trailer.

Grant Gustin.

Thomas Grant Gustin, better known as Grant Gustin, is an American actor, singer and dancer. Best known for playing the role of ''Barry Allen'' in The Flash series from CW show.

Okay, what should he be most shocked about? The fact that he is representing himself  or that he can dance?

Anyway, Barry continued his research. Grant Gustin seemed like a completely normal guy, in fact, all of the team seemed to be normal. No metahuman activity here.

This was a new one, he didn’t know anyone by that name. Barry clicked on the link of the story, basically they and 4 other couples competed for this award. The Forensic Scientist kept looking at the photo of himself smiling and hugging a girl, whom he couldn’t see, although he could not help but feel curious and even neediss to meet her.

Barry coughed, moving away from the computer. He had not felt anything like this since Iris.

Allen sighed and clicked on the first link to youtube that appeared, ''(Y/F/N)'' was talking and suddenly began to sing. He giggled, her voice was wonderful.

The next video was one of an interview with her, Barry clicked on the link and folded his arms, waiting for what could come.

Fully open mouth in ‘’O’’ was a euphemism for Barry's expression. His chest was full of excitement, confusion... Hope?

His version of this earth was with this girl for years, and he seemed quite happy with her.

This was not Barry's life, he knew that. But something inside his veins was begging for him, go get this girl.

For the first time after Iris, Barry Allen could feel something.

Just then, Cisco appeared, smiling relieved to see his friend well.

'’How about a vibe home, bro?'

"They were together for like three years and they looked really happy. I have to find this girl. I just have to. ''

''You're like one of those in love Disney guys, are you going to start singing for no reason like them?'' Cisco joked.

''And she was a singer actress!'' Barry remembered.

"As lovely as it is, you know this was not your earth, right?" Caitlin said, wanting to make sure his friend’s head was in order.

As Barry opened his mouth to speak, the rest of the team entered the room. His heart ached a little to see Iris, she's still Iris after all. The difference is that, this time, he accepted his new idea of destiny, Barry Allen was happy. He would have Iris at his side as his best friend, fully alive and amazing at job and someone to love, that was more than enough. It took some months to accept that he wasn’t going to be with Iris and a couple weeks before he came back from the other earth to accept that he could be happy with another person. But he did it.

Barry Allen accepted it and would hold onto this future.

"What were you talking about?" Wally asked with Big Belly Burger's mouthful, Iris rolled her eyes at his brother's attitude.

''About the girl that B.A is looking for! She and his look-alike, can you believe it? Look-alikes! - were together and kaboom! He wants to meet her here!'' H.R said excitedly, not noticing what he was really talking about and in front of who.

"Dude, seriously?" Cisco chided him, H.R looked around, his mouth popping open and his expression showing surprise at what he had done.

Before H.R could stutter some apoloze, the reaction in the cortex was completely the opposite of what was expected. Iris smiled at Barry, a genuine smile.

''Well, I'm happy for you, Bear.''

"What do we have?!" Barry asked as he stepped into the cortex, already in his The Flash outfit. Cisco and Caitlin had called him to STAR Labs saying they had found something that needed to be resolved urgently, but the whole Team was there, which was weird for a wednesday morning.

"What do you have to get, bro." Cisco said smiling, eating another of his candys.

''What?''

"We found her." Caitlin smiled sweetly. Barry looked around the room, his eyes wide and his crescent-shaped mouth resting like a smile. ''Her name on this earth is (Y/N) and... ''

"And we'd say more information about how much work to find her we got, but I guess all you want now is to run for her." Cisco interrupted and laughed at his friend's expression, noting how excited he was but happy for him as well as his entire team was.

"Go get your girl, Flash." Iris said, smiling in encouragement, he stared at her and nodded, running out as he received the information from her location by the microphone in his suit.

And then, the world seemed finally to stop when Barry laid his eyes on (Y/N). Nothing was fast or slow, everything was in harmony for the first time in centuries. Barry could swear on his knees that there were no wars or problems in the world, because... How could something bad happen in the world when her smile existed?

You Wanna Go For Coffee?

Every day at work you receive a sticky note with a rather flirty message on them sitting at your desk. They are from a guy called Derek, one of the officers here at CCPD, who you have barely said a word to. Sure you work with him but that doesn’t mean you know him or that he knows you. As a matter of fact the notes are getting a bit much but how can you tell him to stop? For all you know he might be a nice guy you’re just not interested.

Pushing it to the back of your mind you get on with some last minute paperwork before it reaches lunch break. Working in the forensic department is no walk in the park, you have seen some pretty grim things. It is your job to do an autopsy in order to determine exactly how a person died. Thankfully you have Barry to lighten things up, cracking jokes that never fail to make you smile. He makes you forget how morbid your work is. He gets to do the fun stuff analysing the crime scene while you are left poking and probing a dead person’s organs.The two of you work in conjunction to help solve cases. 

Barry finally emerges from the labs, he must be done with his work. Sometimes you wonder how he gets everything done so quickly, it is uncanny. It takes you the whole day if not longer to get through most of yours. He strolls over to your desk with a huge grin on his face. That’s another thing about Barry he’s always happy and full of life. He sits down on the corner of your desk in a way that he can still see you, hands clasped resting on his lap. 

“Almost done?” He has a quick peek at what you are writing when something catches his attention from the corner of his eye. It is a yellow sticky note with a message on it. Barry knows exactly what it is and who it is from but as always his curiosity gets the better of him, wanting to know what Derek has written to you this time. 

“Almost.” You look up at him only to see him reading the note, not that you are surprised it has become a daily occurrence. “Barry.” You say in a disapproving tone. 

“What? I just want to see that’s all.” He shrugs his shoulder unapologetically, a smirk on his face. Before reading the note aloud he clears his throat dramatically. “Hey baby, I hate that you keep giving me the cold shoulder like this but I just really want to take you out for dinner. What’s a guy got to do to take a beauty like you out on a date? When you think of an answer you know where to find me.” Barry reads in a very deep and ridiculous voice, making you chuckle even though you tried so hard not to laugh, you just couldn’t help it. “Man, I’d hate to be that guy.” Barry gladly hands the ‘love note’ back after mocking it. 

Deep down it really makes him jealous that another guy is showing interest in you because secretly he has been crushing on you for the longest time. He just doesn’t have the guts to leave you cheesy messages. The fact that some guy you barely even talk to has the guts to make a move makes Barry feel even less confident in himself. Though he does flirt with you in his own subtle ways, such as telling you jokes. 

“I mean I’ll give him points for being so ballsy but I’m really not interested.” You scrunch the piece of paper in your hand before throwing it into the trash like all the others before it. Barry can’t help but smile because it means that he still has a chance. 

“You wanna go for coffee?” He proposes to you. 

“I thought you’d never ask.” You quickly get up from your seat, putting on your coat. “Come on Allen, let's get out of here.” 

“Wow, I’ve got further than that Derek guy has so far.” Barry takes this as an opportunity to make a dig, again you can’t help but laugh, he just has that effect on you. 

“Looks like you have. Now come on we haven’t got all day.” You link arms with him and the two of you head towards the front entrance of the CCPD. 

On your way out you passed Derek and a few of his friends, the look on his face was priceless. Barry went even further by leaning in and whispering things in your ear just to make him even more confused. He was saying things to you like ‘look at his face’ and ‘you’ve gone and broken the poor guy’s heart’. You have a feeling that the flirtatious notes will stop after seeing this thanks to Barry being well Barry. 

You really like Barry and like to think you have made your interest in him known. No one makes you laugh or smile like he does and seeing him every day brightens up your life. Without him around things would be pretty boring, to say the least. There’s just something different about him that makes gravitate towards him. It’s more than just a simple attraction.

The two of you reach the little coffee shop not too far from the station. Barry holds the door open for you and bows over waving his hand in circular motions just to embarrass you. There are no limits to the things he will do just to make you blush, mostly because he thinks it is absolutely adorable that he can get you all flustered. To everyone else he might look like an idiot but to you that is just how he is and you love him for it. 

“What would you like? Coffee is on me.” Barry turns to face you. 

“You sure?” He nods and you look up at the board in front of you with all the different options. So many choices, it’s not easy just to settle for one. After scanning over all the options carefully you have come to a decision. “I’ll have a double caramel coffee.” You beam at him. 

“Good choice. Go grab a table, I’ll be with you in a second.” 

Although it is just coffee, this is exactly what you needed. Any time you can get alone with Barry is a blessing. He knew how much the whole Derek thing was bothering you and made it his job to cheer you up. It may have been harmless flirting but some of the things he would say/write creeped you out a bit and Barry could tell. He even offered to have a word with Derek to get him to stop but you told him not to, no reason to cause any tension or awkwardness. You thought he would get bored and give up eventually, that wasn’t the case. However, after seeing you and Barry looking cosy he might just take the hint.

Barry takes a seat beside you handing you your coffee with a smirk on his face. The two of you look out the window and see the sun shining brightly in the sky, if only you weren’t working, it’s a lovely day to go out and about. 

“Are you doing anything tonight?” Barry finally works up the courage to ask you out on a date, well kind of a date, he just wants to see you and he will take anything he can get. 

“No, I’m not.” You bring the coffee cup to your lips taking a long sip. 

“Would you like to grab some drinks with me? If you don’t wanna do that we could always do something else.” He scratches the back of his neck nervously as he waits for a response. 

“I’d love to.” You take him up on his suggestion.

On the inside Barry is fist pumping the air, just managing to contain his excitement. The last thing he wants to do is look pathetic. “Great! Soon as we’re finished up at the station we will go on a little pub crawl.” His smile is wide and there is a little glint in his brown doe-eyes. How can you not fall for that? He brings his attention to the watch on his wrist noticing the time. “We should head back now, good thing I got these to go.” The two of get up from your seat. 

“Barry Allen; the man with a plan!” You exclaim and then laugh. 

“Yeah, that’s me alright!” Barry puts his free arm around you, pulling you in close and shaking you by the shoulder as he smiles and laughs alongside you.

The two of you can’t wait for tonight just to spend more time with one another. Who knows, maybe it will become a regular thing and maybe, just maybe it will lead to something more, something great.
