I don't even want to ask this question for fear of awakening the disk horse, but there's been a lot of grumbling about aces demanding no PDA at Pride events, but the only people I've actually seen say anything in that vein are straw men set up my exclusionists looking for reasons to drum up anti-ace sentiment. Are there actual people genuinely trying to prevent PDA at Pride events? You don't have to answer this publicly if you don't want, by the way, I'm just... Confused and concerned.
Well, it’s hard to say how much is shit-stirring. Because some of it indubitably is.
I have seen several posts I feel were credible from people saying maybe the amount of PDA at Pride is . . . a bit much. One from someone who was actively repulsed by that sort of thing and was frustrated by the very sexualized nature of some of the outfits/behavior/etc. at actual events, and two others who just seemed sorely tried and very tired. I can try to dig them out but they were on the dashes of new followers, there when I went to check to make sure they weren’t pornbot accounts.
I’ve also seen a lot more shitty anons, and I can’t even guess at their motivations. You know? So I think there are people who object, yeah, but you’re right, I think there are probably quite a few who are just trying to be jackholes.
