i enjoy grog!! i don’t have a Deep Meta about him but i enjoy him and i think all the damn time about the voice he uses when he calls pike “best buddy.” what a precious soul. and i love that thing travis does where he just offers battle-strategy ideas ooc because grog is No Thoughts Head Empty. i respect so much that he did grog’s narrative telephone as a vlog. “like, comment, and prescribe” simple genius

Vex!

How I feel about this character

I AM IN LOVE WITH VEX... She was definitely one of my favorites in C1. I loved her arc of working on Self Love and internal validation, eventually rejecting her Father’s influence but finding the courage within herself to start mending bridges by the end because it’s something she wanted and not for any other reason. I loved loved loved her relationship with Vax and how deep their understanding truly was, and I am to this day still DEEPLY in love with all the nuance and care that went into the Perc’ahlia ship. I think that she’s compassionate, brilliant, Incredibly Competent, and all around just. So fantastic. God I love Vex

My unpopular opinion about this character

You know I’ve never understood the take that Vex didn’t have an arc in C1? I mean she didn’t have anything as Literal as like, the Briarwoods, but I think that her emotional journey and arc from the beginning to the end of the campaign was really well executed and had some of my favorite moments of all time. I also have NEVER understood the “Vex is Selfish and Wholly Materialistic!!” Takes like... at all. She’s good with money and has a backstory that lends itself to taking precautions around funds so like....??? idk why that was so hard for people to grasp. Like in general she was a very GENEROUS person who drove a hard bargain in the market alkjdsf idk man

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

God what I wouldn’t have given for a more thorough look into how her time alone where she met Trinket and had like... assassins sent after her affected her. She DID have a great character arc on an emotional level and I would have loved to see some of those more literal physical figures reappear on the scene

💖 + Critical Role, campaign 1 and 2 maybe?

oh, okay, i really need to think about this

campaign 1 is probably pike. she’s the glue that holds vox machina together, and every time she and grog interacted my heart melted a little bit more. my current dnd character is very much inspired by her, actually! war clerics are really fun to play. (keyleth is a close second, though. i never understood why some people disliked her so much. marisha is an incredible actress, and druids are just....so cool.)

campaign 2? it started as caleb, and i still love him very, very much, but i think it might be beau now. which i honestly didn’t realize until i started answering this ask, actually. monks are so badass, and i love how her relationships with every other character are so unique but so well-developed. and i really want to see where her story goes. (also beaujester is GOOD)
