Of course I own a physical copy, because I own a copy of every Taeyeon album. (Not including the Japanese ones...) It's one of my favorite Christmas albums of all time. My babies. My blorbos. The unusual friendship between a grumpy bat and a gleeful spood. You know, I've never been good with naming things so just assigning handles to these guys are much easier and funnier. That's what they call each other anyway, just 'Eyes' and 'Ears', like pet names :D

These two guys have been volunteering at VBS all week. I’m so grateful for our friends who invited them to help out. They consider it a privilege to serve. I love seeing how excited they are when they get home from VBS each night and hearing all the funny stories about things that happened while they were away. Do you know what I do so I won’t miss their homecoming each evening? I take a short nap before they get home, then get back up and wait for them so I’m available to listen to everything they want to tell me. An older woman warned me many years ago that big kids don’t always choose to talk at the times that are most convenient for us. After two decades of mothering teens, I’ve found that to be true. I’ve had a few who were early risers (like me) who’d want to talk at 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning. But the vast majority have been more inclined to open up when it’s late at night to tell me what’s on their heart. Sometimes I sleep right through those opportunities, but I’ve tried to make sure each of my children know I’m available to listen anytime they want to talk — even if it they have to rouse me out of bed to do it. #whatsonyourmind #imallears https://www.instagram.com/p/CP4uZ7Lnq-Y/?utm_medium=tumblr
