ღ4: On a Date 

Also doubles this as a small gift to my adorable friend whose birthday was yesterday because I love her. uwu

Lovino smells the crisp scent of salt and hears the crash of ocean waves against rocks and the shoreline long before Alfred reveals the surprise of their current location. Blindfolded, he takes guided steps, ignoring the sand decompressing beneath his bare feet and more on the steady hand pressed against the small of his back. 

Just some distance offshore in the Gulf of  Naples is the island of Capri. Like many of the south's travel areas, Capri is made distinct by its beautiful beaches. Lovino wanted to bring Alfred because for better or worse he is proud father for what his people have cultivated. They've made room for their quaint lives amongst the nature--not claiming it as theirs, but rather, quietly working their way into the bigger picture, decade by decade. Lovino's favorite spot is a small resort distant from town, ran by an elderly couple with hearts that bleed kindness and acceptance. He and his brother knew them well. They oftentimes came down together during the summer, but this summer held an obvious exception. 

"Okay, you can take it off now." 

And Lovino obliges. The first thing he sees is the moonless sky overhead, stretching into the distance, scarcely sprinkled with stars. The second thing he sees is Alfred, from the corner of his eye,

"Why did you bring me out here at in the middle of the night?" His voice is soft and eyelids lowered Alfred notices, because he caught Lovino during the precious moment between being sated from dinner and ready to fall asleep. 

"This is our last night here and I wanted to do something special. Since you've basically been spoiling me the entire weekend we've been here. And at first I was kinda at lost, but then. Well. D'you remember that musical we watched awhile back? Mamma Mia?"

"Mmm, what about it--?"

That is when Lovino realizes that there is a boom box sitting on the sat next to Alfred, which earns a raised eyebrow. Rubbing his hands together, Alfred crouches down to hit play before taking Lovino's hands into his own, gazing directly into his eyes. It makes Lovino feel slightly uncomfortable, only because he isn't sure where this is going and normally he is good at predicting.

"You, Lovino Vargas, have turned my world upside down." 

Music begins to play--and suddenly, all is clear the moment Alfred starts to sing, a hand on his chest and over his heart in a dramatic manner. 

"I wasn't jealous before we met. Now every man that I see is a potential threat. And I'm possessive, it isn't nice. You've heard me sayin' that freedom was my only vice. But now it isn't true--" 

"God in heaven, you're singing that song, you're singing that song at me, don't expect me to fucking sing, I swear--"

Alfred doesn't answer but instead falls to his knees, shaking his fists above his head. 

"...Now everything is new! And all I've learned has overturned, I beg of youuuuuuuuuuuuu--"

At this point they were nose to nose. In a split second reaction done out of instinct and not to imitate the musical further, Lovino lazily nudges at Alfred with his leg. Inhaling a deep breath he always away, closer to the water just a few feet ahead. 

"...Don't go wasting your emooooo...tions. L-Lay all your love on me--don't go sharing your devoooootion...

Lovino's voice cracks a bit but smooths out as he continues to sing, his face feeling funny as it was caught between laughing because Alfred is so ridiculous(ly sugary sweet) and frowning--only because he thinks he sounds unappealing and certainly nothing close to the character Sophie. Alfred hugs him from behind and kisses the back of his head. It is brief because Lovino turned around just then, as the high tide laps over their ankles. He takes Alfred's hands into his own this time, bring them up to his lips to brush lightly over the knuckles, murmuring the next few lyrics. 

"Lay all your love on me."

Alfred falls in love over and over again.

What’s your favorite season? Hurghmuhurrr... Well, I usually say Winter. But seeing as I had so many fits about how cold it was (Colorado!!! >>) this year, I'mma play it safe and say Autumn.

What’s the earliest happy memory you can remember? Haha... uh... awkward... To be honest, all of my memories from around 2 years old (assuming I remember that far) to like... when we moved here (around 8) are all in a jumble of slkdfjlkdf. But I guess playing games with classmates on the playground? ... I think that was like kindergarten or something ...

If you could only listen to one band’s songs for the next year, what band would it be? Panic! At the Disco ;D

If you could have any kind of pet, (seriously, think big! any kind, unicorns and dragons included) what would it be? Ohmygod I'd totally get a unicorn and... and a dragon... and a and a phoenix... and a tiger and a cheetah and a jaguar and a (insert long list of felines here)... I think a fish full of piranha's would be kinda shnazzy. 

Do you have a favorite kind of ice cream? Peppermint!

Have something you don’t leave your house without? My wallet. Sometimes the bag I carry my wallet it which generally has painkillers/sunglasses/bubbles (because bubbles) in it.

How many pillows do you have on your bed? If you don’t have a lot of pillows, how about stuffed animals? Okay. I've got 5 pillows on my bed. Stuffed animals (on my bed) is currently 2, but I usually have 7. Stuffed animals in /total/ (as in my room entirely) would be about 40-50. But I'm not going to double check and count because then I'd have to stack all of them back on top of each other again and orz

If you could have anything to drink right now, what would it be? /ANYTHING/? Well I just had a Raspberry Apple sparkling water which was delicious. I'd love more of that. But soda is good too. We lobves dat soda. Coca-Cola Vanilla (which I actually have some of ;D) or Dr. Pepper. Or Dr. Pepper Cherry, or Cream Soda or... or... Yeah this list could go on for a while.

Any weird quirks or hobbies? Uhm... Do we consider cosplay as a weird quirk/hobby? |D; Otherwise I'm just kinda boring.
