The hallways of Thriller Bark echoed the heavy footsteps of Bartholomew Kuma, a Shichibukai rarely seen by the zombies who inhabited the mansion, as he searched for the captain of the ship. Thanks to previous visits he was able to remember that Moria resided in the mast, but the vessel was still too large for him to have memorized.

Spotting a trio of Moria’s minions whom he recognized from a previous visit, Kuma decided to ask them about their Master’s whereabouts.

Terrified of the mysterious large man in front of them, it took a moment before one of them – the one with the blue head – spoke up, “M-Master Moria’s i-in his room!” The zombie timidly pointed down the hallway to a very large set of doors.

It wasn’t surprising to Kuma that Moria’s room would have the most extravagant entrance. Not sharing the same fear of Moria that the zombies had, he made his way over and knocked on one of the decorated doors. The cyborg ignored the small minions behind him, who were fearfully scuttling at the possibility of their Master’s irritation.

It was daytime at ‘Holy Land’ Mariejois, and if the sun alone couldn’t communicate that, the bustling of the marines and the folk in the city would. Luckily the hallways were large enough to accommodate a man of over 22’ (or two) as well as a group of soldiers passing by. While a lot of the soldiers simply carried on down the hallway, a few newbies found themselves inching themselves as far away from the large men as possible. This amused Moria, but if Kuma felt anything, he didn’t bother to show it through his emotions or actions.

The meeting was held early in the day, as was standard procedure, probably so that Sengoku could get over with this headache of a task sooner rather than later. While the more rambunctious Shichibukai were determined to get their kicks, adding quips and starting skirmishes throughout the session, the Marine Admiral was able to get his news across. He talked primarily about the whereabouts and new information on already existing enemies of the World Government, mentioned some new threats rearing their head onto the Grand Line – all things that none of the experienced pirates seemed to care to hear. Kuma listened silently, though he noticed through the corner of his vision that Moria had been glancing at him the entire time.

When the pirates were (finally) dismissed, the Shichibukai left the large meeting room, griping over wasting their time at the session (as was usual). As Kuma walked out, he felt the presence of his roommate behind him.

It didn’t matter how she ended up here. It didn’t matter how she knew that it was the right place.

What mattered – that wasn’t Dressrosa this time. And this time – she was sure that she wanted to be right here.

Or maybe not. At first she didn’t want to see him. But that man didn’t give her choice. And Moria was the only person who could help her, not wanting anything in return. Mihawk was rarely home these days.

„Moria.” She said blankly and looked around. This looked like a ship. So he was running, after all.

Kuma’s jaw twitched when she pressed her clenched fist to the chest, covered with blood. There were two wounds, one on the right side of her neck, going down to the collarbone, and the second - through her torso. Crack. Some amount of red liquid has just soaked the board when she staggered, trying not to fall onto her knees. The violet ribbon she had her hair tied with looked almost normal compared to her current state.

The place she landed in this time was familiar. This was the first room in which they met. It looked exactly as she remembered. Did he finally fix his bathroom? Kuma didn’t bother to check it when she passed by. The library and kitchen were empty. There were few doors left on the corridor, so she decided to check them. Not here. Not here.

Here.

The first thing she noticed in the room were toys. Toys everywhere.

Kuma looked around.

A trace of faint smile could be seen on her face when she looked at Moria.

And faded away in the same moment.
