For me it was finding the Beast more attractive than the Prince. Then it was Beast in X-Men (he’s so big and so smart!). Then there was a slew of werewolf and vampire films and fascinations and honestly, I’ve just always been doomed to this fate. We are, once more, the same person.

I’m telling you, had they just not so massively fucked up Adam, we might have stood a chance. Because sure, we might have still had a few stirrings since they also massively fucked up the task “make an unattractive beast” (boils! weird bald patches in the fur! mad moodey’s wonky eye! a clearly fungi ridden crotch area!) and instead opted for “majestic beast” mode - but had Adam just wowed us, we would have forgotten about it and swooned over the prince. Instead, we got a Kylie Jenner-lipped disaster with big facial features EVERYTHING (forehead! chin! nose! eyebrows!), and we were VERY disappointed. Nowadays, I can appreciate a more unconventionally looking prince, but at five? Forget about it! Was not ready. It was like being asked to find Alan Alda in M.A.S.H hot before turning 28. Bring back the beast! 

So in conclusion, a majority of our generation was conditioned to fear the transformation back to human form because of that severe trauma in our formidable years. We learned to find beauty in beasts because we literally didn’t have a choice in our first encounter with the blurry bestiality territory. No wonder we all became monster fuckers.

Sidenote: the peeps attracted to ladies in our generation weren’t spared hardships - under no circumstance had James Cameron been able to do a blockbuster about fuckable blue cat people without Thundercats Cheetara, or Nala’s blatant “come do me” look in Can You Feel The Love Tonight.  

 (ps I too had a thing for X-Men’s Beast - what is it with me and the colour blue?)
