15 September 2017 || Intarmed Mini-Graduation Ceremony
So my lateral entrant classmates came up with the idea to hold a mini-graduation for us, their Intarmed classmates, because we’re finally getting our BS Basic Medical Sciences degree next year. Since we’ve just had our last exam for LU 4.5, and we’re finally going to start our rotations in PGH next week, it was the perfect “goodbye classroom life” event for the whole class.
I am going to miss being with this class. It seems like it was only yesterday when we were in first year and we all had to go through weeks of exams, sleepless nights, dissection sessions, and class events. I am going to miss simply walking across the room just to talk to people. I am going to miss browsing through Twitter in the wee hours of the morning, because knowing most of my classmates are still awake makes me feel I’m not alone in this journey. I am going to miss sending a text message to everyone at 8AM to go to class already. I am going to miss my seatmates who I can just talk to about anything when I can’t concentrate anymore in class. I am going to miss our creative group presentations where we always outdo ourselves every single time. I am going to miss our inside jokes. I am going to miss this family.
It’s not a farewell, however. We may be seeing each other less often, but knowing that we are finally going beyond the walls of the classroom and through the halls of PGH just makes me proud. I’ve witnessed how we grew and changed in just 2 years, and we’ll probably keep getting better each year. Even though most of us, including myself, are probably apprehensive and terrified of how the hospital setting will be, I’m sure we’ll end up surprising ourselves at the end of the year and eventually tell ourselves, “hey, we made it”. :)
One of the best IDC lectures ever. The session was about Healing the Schism - of why Medicine is (almost) completely separated from Public Health, and why it shouldn’t be that way. It seriously made me re-think of my future plans and tract as a doctor. There is currently an internal conflict going on within me - do I become who I really want to be or do I become who the Filipinos really need?
Ang daming feelings. Huhu.
Also, I got to keep these cards where my classmates wrote their visions of themselves in 10 years. Ibabalik ko ‘to sa kanila in 10 years hahahaha.
We’ll see, guys. We’ll see :)
"Today is a really good day"
- I kept repeating to myself today :)
Even though I only had less than 3 hours of sleep because of that Bio30 Lec exam, I am still grateful for a lot of things:
Our STS teacher complimented our Biotechnology and Genetics Engineering report, saying it was a good report, and some people complimented the PPT design I made!!! #kilig
During our Psych session, we continued watching the videos we made about ourselves. Catching a glimpse of the lives of people you barely know really gives you a lot of insight about people in general.
Sabaw kwentuhan during Bio lab session with my table mates!!! Daming energy.
Also, I got a really high score for the last Bio30 lab exam!!! Huhu ang sarap talaga ng feeling when your efforts finally pay off + Ma’am Co, our Bio30 prof, COMPLIMENTED ME. Huhuhuhuhu kaiyak pls.
FINALLY, natuloy na rin yung matagal na naming plano ni Ana na mag-foodtrip sa Taft! We brought some people along with us pa hehe. It was a really perfect way to end this perfect day.
Bottomline: I simply love this day. Dami kong feelings, pero lahat ‘yun rooted sa mga simple at maliliit na bagay. Ahhhh ang saya talaga. GV lang!!!
Hay. To more days like this. :)
