I don't know if you've talked about this before, but are there primate taurs in the Sirpaverse? As in, lower half monkey, top half human?

Along similar thoughts, did any branches in the genus Homo tree of life (like Neanderthals or Homo erectus) also have taur stuff?

There are, yes yes! I haven't drawn them before, mostly because I’m prone to forgetting my ideas and when I remember I don’t have the time or means… Actually you know what, I'm done with my work for a bit! Primatetaur time!!! :DD

(There's no colour here so it doesn't really show, but if you were wondering, the inspirations are: black-capped squirrel monkey, central chimpanzee, yellow-cheeked gibbon, lion-tail macaque)

I think they could get really silly with their clothes, perhaps it'd be inevitable when they have such a humanoid taur half. They can do double-tops instead of many-legged bottoms, even wear "faun clothes" on their taur half and nothing else (not actually very proper, but, it's funny)! And they can have shoes or gloves or nothing at all on their hand-feet depending on how they feel.... even if that's a little weird either way ^^''

Anyway, other human species have never been found to have taurs, only Homo sapiens! Though, that doesn’t mean that there haven’t been quote unquote “weird” humans before taurs. Sometime in prehistory there were several populations of two-headed H. sapiens for example! And other human species sometimes naturally grew fur, feathers or even long, sharp spines before taurism was observed. They seem to have appeared out of nowhere, lingered for a bit, and quietly sank into extinction.

I’m not sure how well the modern people of the Sirpaverse know of these ancient humans — seeing as soft tissues don’t tend to last in remains — but they existed! I suppose if the feathered and furred humans had lice adapted to them, then we would suddenly find that these suspiciously land taur-adapted lice seem to be of a far older lineage than merfolk-adapted parasites, revealing that furred and feathered humans are older than at least some taurs (after the extinction of the other humans the lice most likely hung around in other mammals and birds before being transmitted to taurs)

What were all the endgame phases for the classes of early D&D editions? Wizards were supposed to eventually build their own dungeons, and thus had more spells relevant to that, but what about the rest of them?

Depends on what version of the game you’re playing. For example, in the revised 2nd Edition, high-level bards attract a small band of warriors under their command, in keeping with the whole battle-poet shtick that 2E bards have going; conversely, in 1st Edition, becoming a bard is an endgame path, being a high-level class change available only to dual-class fighter/thief/druids. Similarly, paladins lack a formal endgame phase in 2E as a legacy of the fact that in earlier editions, becoming a questing paladin is an option available to Lawful high-level fighters as an alternative to settling down to raise a stronghold and an army, and not a distinct character class at all. It’s really too broad a topic to cover in the space of a Tumblr post!

(My personal favourite, for the record, is 2E druids, who basically get sucked into a mandatory tournament arc; I touch on the subject – with relevant citations – in this post here.)

Hey, have you done a write up of the Nuckelavee? (Searching for things on tumblr is nigh impossible, so I might as well check your memory).

Nope! But that’s because the nuckelavee is canon in Pathfinder already! They appear in Bestiary 3, and here’s a link to the stats. In my experience, they’re weak for the CR: mortasheen is a nasty disease, as it should be, but the monster has a very low attack bonus and low hit points for the CR. The one time I ran a fight with a nuckelavee, it used its breath weapon on round 1, everyone passed the save against mortasheen, and it missed with all of its attacks on the second turn. It didn’t survive to the third.

DOOM 64 has been announced for a rerelease on the Switch. Smash Bros. has confirmed they will have more DLC fighters after the initial five. This could mean something, but it could also mean nothing.

Admit it, you just want to see Samus Aran and Doomguy fight.

Welp. With the addition of Joker into SSBU, we can finally cross off the last thing everyone thought would prevent a character from getting in: Gun. Not a laser gun, not a water gun, not a foot gun, but a Realistic Looking Hand Gun.

You know, I could have sworn that at least one of Snake’s moves involves his sidearm, but upon examination it appears I was imagining things – he uses realistic hand grenades and RPG-7 rocket launchers, but no pistol. He’s clearly carrying a realistic handgun in his character model, but I can’t find any instances of him drawing it. Huh!
