*SPOILERS* VLD SEASON 6
Okay, I know I rarely post but vld s6 just dropped today and of course I watched it but y’all....Y’ALL...I couldn’t even do it in one sitting. After ‘The Colony’, I knew. I just KNEW that it was taking a turn none of us wanted but we all saw coming. We knew Lotor was going to be a turncoat but the way they built up his character in the last seasons and made us love him and made the team trust him and made Allura fall for him just to follow the same cliché course of him ultimately being the bad guy...it’s just sad at this point. I was rooting for him! He was going to be vld’s Zuko! But now it’s a disgrace to even compare him to Zuko. And I can’t even be mad at Lotor. Seriously. It’s the writers. They took a great character, an honestly charming character and turned him into a monster and for what? A plot twist??? It’s not a twist if we all know it’s coming! Honestly, who didn’t see Lotor’s character taking a shift?? He could’ve been so much better. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes of his parents mistakes, failures, and wrongdoings. He and Allura could’ve been something great. A power couple who could rule over a new Altea. He could’ve been an actually savior of his people. Both people. Like honestly, watching the last ep and seeing him go nuts in the quintessence field was extremely uncomfortable because it wasn’t the Lotor the writers have ever shown us. We’ve barely seen tiny glimpses of Lotor’s crazy side. Not even while he was battling Zarkon or the other Galra for the throne. Really we only saw it on Oriande and even then it just didn’t feel right...
I’m just really sad right now...
