5. Do you have any writing superstitions? What are they and why are they 100% true?

If I ever pair a song with a story, chances are I am listening to that song a number of times while working on that piece. It’s not the only thing I listen to of course, but whenever I’m stuck sometimes I’ll just listen to whatever song I’m pairing with the story to try to get the vibes or whatever I’m trying to get done for the story

You’re gonna hate me for this but I still use Microsoft Word. Yeah even though I have you check my stuff on Google Docs I still use Word to write my stuff there. I’ve been trying to ween myself off of it, but I think it’s because its the one program I’m used to using

And if I’m ever smoking weed while writing, joints > bong. I don’t know why, I just feel like a real writer when I hold a lit joint in my hand while pondering how I wanna make the characters kiss in a story

10. Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you?

Oooh that’s a good question. Unfortunately I don’t have a good answer cause I can’t really think about a piece of writing that has ever haunted me. I think the only writing of mine that haunts me is the unfinished stuff. I think that means I just need to relax

13. What is a subject matter that is incredibly difficult for you to write about? What is easy?

One thing I ALWAYS find difficult is writing smart/scientific dialogue for smart/scientific characters. I’m a Communication Major. Not a scientist. Or someone really really smart. I want my characters to sound natural and not like someone who thinks they know what they’re talking about. I want to do them justice

Something I find easy to write about. Sibling stuff. I grew up with five other siblings and was the middle child I kinda know what it’s like to be an older sibling and younger sibling. Plus I love writing sibling dynamics

You know, your John Johnson character reminds me of The Laughing Salesman - was Moguro Fukuzou part of the inspiration process?

No, I've never heard of the Laughing Salesman! But the similarities are pretty clear now that I've looked it up. John Johnson was a character I created during a writing exercise in school-- a door to door salesman who is just your Average American Man who would really love to get into your house and give you a demo of whatever he claims to be selling. He is normal and there is nothing out of the ordinary about him. Please let him in.

Are there any other cultural, economic or military forces that rival or counter the Kashmir empire? So far they seem to be the only superpower in the setting

There are a few emerging ones like the Radica Republic, but by far the most widely agreed potential great power was the short-lived Redspring Confederation.

Overnight with the signing of a document, a country with an impressive cache of natural resources, an established industrial apparatus and a sizable population appeared right next door to Kashmir where 12 small squabbling nation-states had been the day before. 

Falling just as quickly as it rose it was strategically invaded on disputed claims of aggression by Kashmir and defeated after a lengthy 4 year war. Many historians believe it’s too early to determine what it’s effects on the political stage would have been. But no doubt having been allowed to grow and solidify itself, it along with it’s first leader, the fiery Chairwoman Nicole Kemp, would have seen Redspring grow into a potential economic and trade rival with Kashmir. 

Some theories contend that an entity like this right on Kashmir’s doorstep (practically INSIDE it’s established sphere of influence) means a war would have happened eventually. They assert that the war happened when it did as a preemptive move to absorb Redspring into the empire before that could ever happen.

a few, yeah! currently for the Bold Jumper comics I have Coyote, and a few more in the works that are temporarily secret
