Diseased - diseases system overhaul
this is one purely amazing mod.
at first, you’ll feel that something wrong: you’ll feel symptoms. in order to determine what is wrong with you (today! thanks to dr. carrington i can’t not make that joke over and over again) you need to read the book.
no, not get the ability to blah-blah-blah. read. the book. don’t worry, it’s short and very specific.
after you have a hypothesis, you should check what is it that you need to make a cure.
this time you can just check at the cooking pot. natural remedies are just that, so you won’t need to find some extra rare item every time you contract something. it’s probably gonna be something like... a green apple. and a wooden bowl (nice touch: after you use the medicine, you’ll have the bowl back).
seems super easy, right? unless... you have to find these items right now, and your disease slowly, but surely progresses towards a deadly one. good luck with finding an apple in the middle of nowhere.
unlike ineed’s popular plugin, you can actually make a cure yourself, without spending exra gold. and you’ll have to learn how to determine and cure different diseases.
i think this is just a hugely underrated mod, and an absolute must-have for most survival playthroughs really :)
the only problem with it has to do with compatibility. you will not be able to cure diseases from other mods by using ‘cure disease’ potion, since it was changed. you can try to use ‘uninstall’ option in mcm menu to help you with that. my other idea is to use ‘cleansing potion’ from Requiem - Minor Arcana, but i don’t know yet if this is going to work.
i love mods that add more domestic activities (like become a bard or jobs of skyrim — the latter makes me disable all these annoying clones, but basically it’s a unique and very nice mod), so my character could live more or less like a commoner in skyrim.
so for fishing i use art of the catch (for the animation mostly) and fishing in skyrim (for everything else).
but boats... boats are teasing. they are everywhere, but you can’t actually use them. there is a wonderful retexture called joy of ships btw, to make it worse.
they are mods to make them obey physics, but they don’t make them useful: you can try to make the damn thing move till you’re out of stamina, but the moment some npc will touch it — it will come flying somewhere else.
since i just couldn’t leave them alone, i tried other mods and eventually found the best solution for me.
from now on all the boats in my game are in fact cursed horses xD
why? because apparently it is more or less impossible make boats both realistic and sailable, and the only way to make them work is to use vanilla mounts system.
it is possible to add only one boat aka undercover horse, but all the others then will still remain decorative. that seems unfair.
i am forever grateful for these two dusty, but nicely working mods (if you follow authors’ recommendations): pilotable rowboat and finally real boats.
p.s. beware, one can not do fishing with art of the catch while standing on the boat from this mods. nope. you will fall to the bottom of the lake, walk on it and fuck up all the animations completely (reloaded from an earlier save: nothing else helped).
everything other than that works perfectly, best horse-boat i could ever wish for. i love it.
