Busted: Your character will catch mine doing something they shouldn’t. [ Because we love you]
Shay was walking through Times Square, moving through the crowds with the practiced ease of a native New Yorker. A flicker of movement caught her eye as she moved through the crowd. Shay stopped and turned around, bright blue eyes searching the crowd with a critical eye. She had seen something, an outfit half-glimpsed too often, a flicker of a too familiar face. She was being followed. Shay narrowed her eyes and turned into the crowd, quickly melding into the massive flow of people.
The woman who had been following Shay paused and frowned, the Agent having seemingly melted into the crowd. She searched the crowd frantically for the woman she was pursuing when she heard a soft voice behind her. “Tara.”
The blonde jumped nearly a foot in the air before spinning around to find the small brunette staring at her expectantly“H-h-how d-do you d-do that??” Far as Tara knew the woman wasn’t a witch nor a demon…but if she kept up this whole entire disappearing act thing, Tara was going to have to look at Shay again.
Shay sighed. “Tara, you’ve got to stop doing this. You can’t come on these missions with me, it’s too dangerous ”
Tara set her jaw stubbornly“Th-then it’s t-too d-d-dangerous for you” Shay’s eyebrows drew together and she almost glowered at Tara“I’m a trained federal agent, I have faced death and the destruction of everything I hold dear on multiple occasions and come out just fine and I don’t need a baby sitter!”
Tara blinked, hurt by the woman’s outburst. “I. I don’t want to find you covered in bodies and blood again Shay.” she murmured quietly, hurt and worry clear on her face.
Shay blinked and her eyes softened. She reached out, hesitantly touching Tara’s shoulders“Is that what this all about? That was a fluke Tara, I wasn’t even on a mission then.”Tara looked up at the woman, blue eyes welling up with tears.“I d-don’t w-want to l-l-lose you”
Shay quickly pulled the woman into a tight hug. “You won’t. I promise.” Shay pulled back to look up at the woman with a soft smile.“I’ll always come home to you okay?”
Tara searched Shay’s face for a moment before sighing“Okay. Promise me you’ll be careful?”
Shay smiled and nodded.“I promise.” Somewhere along the way, Tara became her home. Shay would always do her her best to come back to her.
