Imodnovember Day 30: Tether

The King is dying. For years the Queen has managed to prolong his life using the shadow magic in her daughter’s blood, but it is a cursed existence, neither dead nor alive.

Deep in the Parchwood there dwells a lone unicorn with lightning in her horn, seeking sanctuary from humans whose thoughts she has found to be full of ill intentions, except for one — Princess Matilda, whose thoughts are like music to her. But their secret friendship is observed by Gargo, the familiar of the Queen, who carries news to her of the unicorn in the woods.

The Queen will stop at nothing to possess the unicorn, for medicine made from a unicorn’s horn has the power to cure any illness, but a unicorn can only be tethered by a bridle made of gold and only be tamed by a maiden pure of heart. To save the King, the Princess must be the one to commit a terrible betrayal.

It isn't quite Waudna Wednesday, but I did not want to miss the date for imodnovember's "patron" prompt. I like Laudna's face very much here. I had to take a reference photo and i gave her my very mismatched eyebrows <3

Welcome Imodna fans to a wonderful second year of Imodnovember!

In just under two weeks, we will once again embark upon a month-long venture to never let anyone forget about this iconic Sapphic duo.

Clean your paintbrushes, open up new documents in your preferred writing software, watch those art program tutorials, master video or audio editing, select the prettiest note- or sketchbook of your dreams, tune your preferred instrument... it's official Imodnovember prep time!

Find your emotional support group, warn your friends you will be insufferable about this, or better yet, bring them into the fold with you! With lots of wonderful clips, the Imodna supercut, and countless gifsets at the tips of your fingers, let's get lost in the sauce and show the ladies our undying love.

If you're new to Imodna, we're so happy to have you. If you've been around since they first opened campaign three and you swore they were married, wow, so good to have you with us.

There's a month full of prompts. Create as much or as little as you want/have capacity to do. Tackle them all, one a week, just one, or roll them all into one pinnacle of artistic effort. Draw art, make gifs, write fic, produce a song, tear out our hearts with edits... the choice is yours! just make sure you tag your stuff with #imodnovember2025 so we can find and reblog your amazing work!
