In season 1 of The Bureau of Magical Things, Imogen didn't wear a skirt or a dress once in 20 episodes, not even on formal occasions. In season 2, it felt like she wore a skirt every other episode.
Now, I understand that someone's personal style can change. But with how Imogen goes from being more of a rival to more of a friend between season 1 and season 2... and she just happens to start wearing skirts around the same time... I don't really like the potential implications of that.
I also think the writers were cowards to introduce a new female character in their age group whose arc was so heavily intertwined with Imogen's but not make them a couple even though every single other main character had a love interest. At least they didn't try to pair Imogen with a guy--I would have quit at that point.
Speaking of love interests, Ben was totally boring and flat. The other romances in the show were fine in my opinion, but Lily and Ben's didn't add anything. My dad was totally bored with that part as well.
I did like the show overall, mostly. It wasn't the most original, but that's okay. The characters were likeable enough to make it fun, with Imogen, Tanya, and Peter standing out the most to me. I liked the ending a lot--I haven't seen an ending like that in any of the many similar media I've consumed.
