Jack: The last thing Jack wanted was to ruin the surprise. She liked Imogen- a lot. The other girl was weird in the best way possible, with awesome taste and an unwillingness to be put in a box. And while Jack hardly worried about meeting people that she had something in common with, she enjoyed having someone in her life whom she had met organically. Nobody was forcing her to spend time with this girl, which did not happen all too often. All of her acquaintances from dance or the axe throwing league and everywhere else were neat, but they came with the activity. It felt good to have someone in Toronto that meant to spend time with her. A couple of nights back had felt magical, and she could not chalk the sparks flying up to the joint they had smoked... But she imagined that had helped at least a little bit. Jack wanted to make the most of everything now that they had overcome the first date hurdle. She could think of so many ideas of what they could do together, that she frankly surprised herself as she planned for their afternoon. Perhaps “planned” was as a misnomer, as she only loosely kept in mind some of her favorite ideas. If Imogen could be quirky and unpredictable, then Jack wanted to vibe off of that and leave some room for chance and choice. And perhaps she had taken a mistaken chance, slipping out of her last period under the pretense of, well, her period (which wasn't for a few days, but teachers thankfully did not normally track that sort of thing). She wandered toward the front of the school to make sure that she arrived on the front steps first for sure. The time that she spent with her nerves did not serve her well as she had feared, but her confidence could not be shaken too harshly after remembering how absolutely right everything had gone for the two of them thus far. Everything was going in her favor, expect perhaps the fresh wad of gum that she nearly stepped on when she went outside just after the final bell rang. Frowning, she cleared away from the door so that the stream of outgoing students did not eat her alive before she found Imogen.
