IMPACT Personal Safety offers firearms safety classes!
Some of you may have noticed in our last newsletter that Carla Young, one of our esteemed and long-standing Lead Instructors, is a firearms instructor. While IMPACT takes no official position on firearms, we do take an official position on safety. If you have a firearm, for goodness sakes, learn how to use it safely! If someone you love has one, insist that they train.
Over the years, we have received many requests for this kind of training, and now Carla and fellow instructor Gus Themaras have graciously agreed to conduct a class. The class teaches handgun skills using our long-standing teaching methodology of positive reenforcement in an emotionally supportive environment. This class is designed to introduce students who have never fired a pistol and will also help those who want to improve basic marksmanship and work on the fundamentals of handling a pistol. Students will learn to use a pistol in a safe and efficient manner and learn the principals of target shooting. The class is designed in a non-competive manner that focuses on each student’s individual progress during the day.
