AU-tober 2024 – Day 23: Protective [Impactful Skip AU]

Tails peeked at Sonic through his fingers. He sniffled, wiping the tears from his eyes into his hand. He then crashed right into Sonic and wrapped his arms around him, burying his face against his big brother’s fur. Sonic was taken aback by the sudden reaction, but soon smiled and started to pet the top of Tails’ head.

As he kept petting and calming the terrified fox, Sonic soon murmured quietly, almost inaudibly: “We’re safe.”

“Amy, you’re going to crush all his bones if you keep that up,” Knuckles huffed, approaching them, “Leave some for me, too!”

He wrapped his arms around Sonic as well, squeezing him with just as much – if not more – force as Amy. They both hummed happily, cheeks pressed against Sonic’s from each side.

“Woah! Forget about my bones, I think you two are gonna destroy my lungs first!” Sonic choked out a laugh.
