How long have you been at this? You write about magic in a way I find surprisingly unique.

Uhh... ~checks calendar~ About 8 years. So that puts me a little past FNG status but still well within “knows just enough to fuck herself over” range.

It’s always funny to look back, because what I considered “real magic” when I first got serious, I don’t do at all now, and what I do do, I didn’t consider to be, well, anything.

I didn’t realize how much I have changed in those 8 years. A+++ Would repeat again.

you start into the dungeon with a flavor stone

you use it to bash in the skull of a goblin.

you entice a lamia with the tasty goblin stew (flavored also w the flavor stone) and she trades you dire carrots

in the end you make The Lordly Stew and feed it to Satan-Gore the king of the dungeon, and he awards you with the position of chief chef and you feed everyone for a while before leaving never to return with only your flavorstone, leaving behind your mithril ladles and dragonskin oven mitts... in search of further and greater culinary feats

Mm. Sometimes, in absurd ways, I experience some fractional, yet genuine parallels. But in this age, with the digitized interiors of the human condition closer to us than ever before, I imagine many of ours do. I’d prefer a K. Morgan narrative though.

no. it’s a private elementary-high school here in cali, though i’ve heard there are several other schools with the name in other states

double dare, actually.

but i was obsessed with ghost writer. nowadays, though, i remember nothing about it except (a) when i was a kid  i wished i had a ghost friend that was a writer, and (b) i  also had hideous nightmares about that purple monster thing showing up in my room and vomiting slime at me

(unless the purple monster thing didn’t actually happen in the show and was just my hallucination, in which case, uh)

yeah? glad to hear that, warren ellis is one of my favorite writers out there. loved that issue Moon Knight run he did recently. i just picked up the Planetary Omnibus recently as well, looking forward to rereading that series.

Best example of music magic I know of is Kieron Gillen's Phonogram comic. Music is a common component it's just rarely central. Musicians who overlap with magic include Grimes, Bowie, Genesis P-Orridge, Coil, Current 93 and Stravinsky (apparently).
