“Selective misinformation is still deceitful!” Pout. Even if they were tasty (They weren’t, like most veggie substitutes -- at least not to Bart.) they weren’t very filling (but then, what is to a boy who can eat two pizzas in one sitting and still be hungry? It wasn’t his fault he had a metabolism to match his speed. It wasn’t his fault food processed faster for him than most other people.)
Groan. He looked to the side, folding arms across his chest. “You might like veggie burgers, but that doesn’t mean everyone does...”
This time the ‘groan’ came from his stomach. He rolled his eyes -- he couldn’t just ignore it. “... But fine, I guess. Can I have one?”
❝ I hate this... ❞
Maybe if he kept complaining about their situation, Jon would be allowed to leave and Gar can take his place. He had HISTORY EXAMS tomorrow for Rao’s sake. Why is he stuck here? Dressed in god awful layers and a strangling bowtie, serving rich people?? A pout frown formed on his lips, head tilted down to talk to the hidden microphone as he complained once more...
❝ Why did I get the waiter disguise?? ❞

“Green dude!” he yelled across the street. “Ice dude, remember me?” he asked to then follow the question with a inviting smile.

Maybe barging onto another team wasn’t the smartest move. Tommy knows that the climate here is different, way different than a bunch of ragtag teenagers banding together to do what they can to fix the world. These are professionals and professionals like things to be done professionally.
Which means minding his ps and qs. Which means keeping his trap shut and not mouthing off any time the boss man tells him to smarten up and fly right. It drives him insane but this is what he wanted, making a difference on a bigger scale, and even if he’s still running off doing his own thing on his down time - he draws a salary here. He has a roof over his head, hot meals, and a team full of people who are patently indestructible.
( he hopes )
And some of them might not take kindly to a former criminal mutant fugitive being their teammate. He’s done his best to stay out of their way, but there’s only so long he can manage that before he straight up loses his mind.
But it’s eight on a Wednesday, a slow day, and he’s had enough of laying low. Tommy’s halfway out the door ( some of his old friends from his younger days are telling him about this rager nearby, they want him there, it’s been so long and he’s in the mood for fun ) when he sees a flash of green on the couch. Nobody else seems to be home.
( this would be a good bonding opportunity, he hears billy’s voice say, go make a friend)
But that is not what he’s doing. Screw you, imaginary Billy voice, he’s his own man.
He zips over and leans across the back of the couch.
“Hey, you’re like the least boring person on this team. You up for a party?”

“Oh. Hey Ollie,” Gar offered as the photographer wandered into the kitchen. “Kinda figured you’d sleep through me getting up.” The shape-shifter was nursing a cup of coffee as he leaned against the counter. He figured if he was gonna have to pull an all-nighter, he may as well do it right.
But Ollie’s question caused him to pause. He really didn’t wanna admit that he’d been dragged out of bed by a nightmare, so he put on his best grin and stretched, careful not to spill his coffee.
“Spent most of the day as a bat. Guess I’m still feelin’ kinda nocturnal. Happens sometimes.”
he frowns with thin arms folded across his chest and a pout on his lips, eyebrows pull together as a low sigh is forced through his nose. his eyes are still half-closed, green hues hidden behind heavy lids, but the concern is still there beneath the exhaustion. ‘ woke up an’ you weren’t there… ’
oliver worries about gar, perhaps a little bit too much, but he thinks it best not to call him out. gar is the hero after all. the smell of coffee ambushes the photographer’s senses and he rubs his eyes in protest.
‘ you know i don’t believe a word of that, right? you only grin like that when you don’t want me to worry. ’
