this turned out longer than I thought, oh well

you walked into your apartment, exhausted from your day at work. The kids had been on a sugar high from all their parties at school, and then the party at the day care you worked at. They wouldn’t stop running around, and you didn’t get much sleep the night before, working on a project for school. Expresso and Redbull were your go-to’s today. 

One thing you were happy about was that Calum was home from his trip to Australia. You had wanted to go, but school, and work interfered with the timing of the trip, but thankfully, he was home, and it was also the weekend so you two could spend all day tomorrow being lazy. 

You walked into your room, surprised to see Calum still awake. It was only 8, but you thought with jet-leg he would of been passed out by the time you reached home. 

“y/n!” he exclaimed, jumping up from the bed and engulfing you in his arms. 

“I missed you, Cal.”

“Missed you too babe.” He held you out at arms length, scanning your face, before kissing you softly. “You look exhausted.” He mumbled when he pulled away. You just nodded, undressing, and pulling on an old shirt that you spotted in Calum’s already open suitcase, before joining your boyfriend on the bed. 

He took the Ipad, and continued watching the show . You leaned your head on his chest, loving the way his hands ran through your hair lightly.

“you make a good pillow.” you mumbled, starting to drift off. 

“thanks, babe.” he chuckled, smiling as he saw you falling asleep. He knew he’d wake up sore from the awkward position you two were in, but he didn’t care. he only thing that mattered was that you were there.
