Mantis had taken his time before biting the bullet and visiting his assigned housing-- several days, actually. He wasn’t fond of the idea of sharing a space with anyone, much less three others, but taking quick power naps in sketchy alleyways was beginning to become a nuisance. Though Mantis rarely slept, the prospect of a bed was alluring; besides, he still had yet to pick up his allowance. Perhaps he wouldn’t need to resort to petty thievery once he pocketed that.
Presently he stood in the hall of his apartment in the dead of night, timed just so that he could avoid any potential roommate. Slowly and carefully he creaked open the door, sidling in with as much stealth as he could muster--
All in vain, because one of these roommates was indeed awake and active, in the living room Mantis had just snuck into. God damn it all. A lengthy silence hung over the two as he considered how to proceed from here, the kchhhhk of his gas mask the only audible noise.
“... Good evening,” Mantis finally decided to sigh, muffled and defeated. “These are my quarters. ... ... ... I am not breaking in.”
