Alright so I'm currently working on an essay about Kaiju, it's a special interest of mine, I have a whole sideblog for it (shameless plug, go follow @gojiposting)

It's a college essay so I have to take it pretty seriously, and my current issue is that since I've been immersed in the genre and fandom for so long I have trouble determining what's acceptable as "common knowledge" and what needs a citation.

I say Kaiju but really it's about Tokusatsu in general, I'm making a point of touching on Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Toei's Spider-Man and Super Sentai (plus Power Rangers)

I feel so bad doing this to my books!! But it's a necessary sacrifice. This essay is pretty much what makes or breaks my chances of getting into my next year of college.

#1 for anime ask?

1: What is your #1 favorite anime?OKAY I’M GOING TO CHEAT A LITTLE BECAUSE HERE’S THE THING It’s REALLY hard to judge anime that are very different in their length - like comparing a short story to a novel and asking which I like more. It’s tempting to say my favorite single cour anime is the best because with less time to work with, it naturally has less time to have flaws, but that’s not really fair. So I technically have 3 answers:Best Single Cour Anime (10-13 Episodes): Mob Psycho 100. Everything about it is perfection, from its animation to ONE’S brilliant story to the way the entire adaptation is handled. I also connect to it personally in a few area: the first being that Mob is probably one of the most obvious autistic headcanons in anime this decade. The second is that I’m not a very good visual artist and seeing ONE tell the best story he can with what he has and seeing how it draws artists who can bring his work to a never level to him is just... amazing and inspires a lot of hope for writers who want to work in visual mediums. Best LOOOOOOOOOONG Anime: One Piece. I grew up with this series and it still means a lot to me. While Oda can sometimes meander into worldbuilding to a level that I frankly don’t care about because history building isn’t really my jam, what really gets me about the series is that you fall in love with every single one of the main characters and they all have such wonderful dynamics with one another: Every time Oda brings in a character who winds up a strawhat, no matter how “ehhh” I’ve been about it at first, I am always thoroughly won over by the time they actually join. (Looking at the 9th member in particular.) The one thing that sucks is lately Toei has changed from including filler arcs to one-episode-per-chapter to try and keep pace with the manga and... it’s SO SLOW and One Piece was the only Shonen in the Big 3 that ACTUALLY HAD GOOD FILLER ARCS to begin with so why Toei??? Why?????Best In-Between Length Anime: Fullmetal Alchemist. The First series. Both are great but the ending of the first subverts shonen tropes just a leeeetle bit more and this I prefer it slightly, but frankly it’s like comparing gold to platinum and I’ll take both any way of the week. Everything about the series is handled well from character depth to ACTUAL WELL ROUNDED WOMEN WHO ACT REALISTIC IN A SHONEN SERIES to the amazing animation and music ala the always impressive BONES.

I am totally in love with your Cassandra cosplay! But I have to know how you got such realistic looking armor! Anytime I try to make armor (I normally use cardboard) it ends up looking really fake and cringey. Do you have any tips or a tutoral you could point me towards?

@impickingtheusername Heya! <3 Thank you so much, I’m really proud of my new Guard armor, so that means a lot!  

Cardboard can work great for imitating a rugged armor appearance, and it’s cheap, and I’m cheap, but I’ve just never had any luck working with it, because no matter what it still looks like cardboard. So for all my thin armor, I use craft foam. Its about $1/sheet at Michael’s or any big craft outlet, or you can buy a roll for 12-15 bucks!

 But the secret to Cass is all in the paint job. Seriously. I used Plasti-Dip Gold [note, NOT “Bright Gold”] Metallizer Spray, which I’d actually never used before, so I was hesitant. I always coat my armor with Plasti-Dip, to give it a rubbery appearance, but this obviously had to look much different. I used just about the whole can of Gold and was in awe with just how metallic it looked! I would DEFINITELY recommend using it for any sort of metallic project.

As far as general armor-building tips go, I cover a lot of that in a TRON Cosplay 101 post I made a while back. Even if it’s not a TRON suit you’re making, the tips are the same for any craft foam armor project I do!

Okay, I’ll sorry if this has already been asked, but at one point at like the end of the Suffering game or something where Griffin is talking about zooming out on the BoB and seeing the Hunger and then he zooms back in and says that someone on the BoB smiles. Did they ever explain who smiled???

No, but it’s heavily hinted that it’s John, considering that he’s the only one who wasn’t yet turned fully into black opal.

Neutral roles are great at cheating

So I (Seven) was playing with my cousin (Six) and my aunt (Raisin Bread). I rolled jester, Six rolled SK, and Raisin rolled exe. Day one, Raisin points a finger at timber, her target, and successfully lynches him. Luckily, night 1 mafia doesn’t strike and timber, the escort, red me. I ask Raisin and Six to help me get the jester win by pointing out this fact. Six reminds town that I was rbed with no maf kill and town takes the bait. Before I know it, I have eight guilty votes and a rick rolling will. So Raisin and I both have won, and town begins to suspect Six. Six claims med and I tell her that the dead said Ugly Ahh was mafioso. I suggested that idea to Six, who told town. Town opted to lynching Ugly Ahh instead. He really was mafioso, so Six became the “confirmed” medium. Why the medium didn’t cc at this point is beyond me.

It finally gets down to Six (SK), Yellow (GF), Raisin (exe), and Samuel (med). Samuel finally announces that he is med. Yellow and Samuel beg Raisin to vote Six up, but the vote is split between Yellow and Six, Raisin refusing to abandon Six. That night Six kills Samuel and Yellow tries to kill Raisin. Raisin lives, though, seeing as she is exe. So it’s the final showdown…gf vs sk with an exe having the final say. Raisin pretends to be torn between the two, and the voting time is counting down. She waits until there’s five seconds left before voting on Yellow and sending him to his death.

So, the jester, the exe, and the Serial Killer won. Best family game ever.
