Finding someone or something that can remind him he isn’t in immediate danger. Some plant that’s not native to Rexxentrum, some smell he hadn’t experienced since he was a boy, or just a member of the Nein. All of them help.
Berry: What makes them happier than perhaps it should? Do others know about it?
Honestly, he’s a little ashamed to indulge in anything Trent found to be a “waste of time” for a while, even things like drawing and going for walks. But in the end, he learns that those things are okay, mostly thanks to the Nein.
Jasmine: What makes them feel beautiful?
Words of affirmation, specific ones, to be exact. Whenever Essek specifically makes a remark about how that spell he just did looked amazing, or even better, made him look like such a strong and capable wizard. Whenever Jester says he looks a lot less dirty than usual today. Whenever Beau says his scars look badass. Anything like that.
