One thing I've been thinking about is how the light glyph is such a good way of contrasting the characters of Luz and Belos.
We have the ice and plant glyphs which both found by observing the nature of the isles. Then we have the fire glyph which for Luz was found when a witch was fighting her in a sports match. And for Belos could be any number of things a witch or demon attacking him, fire bees, and any other number of ways he might have encountered fire.
But then we have the light glyph.
Luz learned it because she befriended a witch and that witch showed her this 'baby spell'; a spell that's just nice for to have and only offers basic utility. She could only learn it because the knowledge of it was shared with her. It's just such a nice way to show how Luz was so committed to learning and accepting what witches and the isles are.
Where as Belos only learned years after searching for glyphs. Years after learning glyphs could be combined through brute force. All because Luz was so excited to share something with a fellow person. It’s just such a good way to contrast her goodness and humanity with Belos’s lack of goodness and humanity.
