THE NIGHT OF BARA`AH (NISF SHA `BAAN ) is between the 14th and 15th day of Sha`baan. Traditions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prove it is a meritorious night in which people on Earth are attended by special Divine Mercy. [Some will observe this Saturday night, others Sunday night. (Check your country) Both are OK] It is important to uphold these traditions, to spend it in total submission to Allah Almighty and refrain from any activities which may displease Him. Feed people, remember Allah ﷻ, remember His Prophet ﷺ, to pray its night and fast its day. One should remain awake this night and worship as much as possible. If unable, select a considerable portion of the night, preferably the second half. If a woman is prevented from praying/fasting (due to menstruation or forty days after childbirth), the angels complete her worship and present it to Allah. WHAT SHOULD BE DONE THIS NIGHT? READING SURAH YASEEN Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said the heart of Holy Qu'ran is Surah Yaseen, and Yaseen is the name of Prophet ﷺ, which means the heart of Qu'ran is Prophet ﷺ! Also, the heart of Yaseen is al-Fatihah, so when you recite Surah Yaseen on Laylat al-Bara'ah, you will be blessed. Allah ﷻ manifests His Beauty, Light and Knowledge on everyone who observes this night. After Maghrib or Isha prayer, we read Surah Yasin three times, after each time read a special dua with the following intentions: 1st reading is for long life. 2nd reading is for protection from calamities. 3rd reading is for not needing/relying on anyone but Allah ﷻ. SALAT AL-KHAYR Afterwards, at home or in congregation, perform 100 rakats prayed in sets of two rakats. In each rakat, recite one Surat al-Fatiha and ten Surat al-Ikhlas (total 1000 Surat al-Ikhlas). Some people keep track of rakats on a misbaha (tasbih, rosary beads). FASTING THE DAY OF BARA'AH Prophet ﷺ highly recommended fasting 15th Shabaan (mustahabb) and a vast majority of Predecessors of the Ummah kept this fast. ❤️
