Sometimes it wasn't so bad being alone. After all, they got a lot of things done with no one to interrupt them and the peace and quiet was nice. Yet sometimes they missed the companionship other people brought.

They were used to dead bodies, investigating them was part of their job after all. But they were not used to them in their living room.
There was blood on the floor. They froze where they stood in the doorway eyes darting quickly around their living room. Nothing seemed out of place but there definitely had not been blood there when they left.
New clothes were always a pain. They had to stand for hours while people pinned the garments into place, occasionally sticking them with the offending metal. And worst of all they always had to have them altered for their weapons.
Everyone always thought to be scared of the angels that were cast out for disobedience. Or those that fell for power. But they weren't nearly as dangerous as those that fell for love.
"Now I don't want to tell you how to live your life..." "Then shut up." "...But I really don't think you should do that." "What part of shut up did you not get?"
The castle may have been surrounded by an almost impenetrable forest and covered in vines and moss. But to the people that lived there, it was home.
"It's alright darling I've got you now, you're safe..." "Hurts X." "I know love I know, but help's almost here I promise."
On particularly quiet nights, when the wind blew in from the sea and the clouds covered the moon, they could hear the faintest sounds of singing.
"When I'm scared I shut my eyes really tight, and when I open them again everything's all better." They smiled at the child as best they could through their own fear. "Let's try that then." It really shouldn't have worked.
Nobody quite knew where the house had come from. As far as anyone could remember one day it hadn't been there and the next it just was. Of course, that could hardly be the case, houses didn't just appear. But nobody remembered it being built and while it looked old enough to have been there forever no one could assure that was the case.
Well well well it appears that we’ve reached 250 followers over the weekend, well we’re at 255 now but I’m slow. I have absolutely no idea how to celebrate this even though I really want to but I did want to thank everyone who has ever interacted with this blog. It means a lot and I hope some of you have made good use of the prompts you find here. If there’s any particular genre or type of prompt you’d like to see more of don’t hesitate to send me an ask or something. That’s all from your friendly neighbourhood prompt demon, until the next time.
"What is your greatest regret?" "Not falling when he asked me to."
Angels didn't have "bodies" as such, you didn't need a body in heaven. But they'd learnt to model themselves off humans to avoid scaring them should they come bearing responsibilities.
"You can hurt me as much as you want. But touch a hair on their head and it'll be the last thing you ever do." "You wouldn't dare." "Try me."
"I am not obsessed..." "Oh please, you care more about those characters than you do me!" "To be fair, there are rocks I care more about than you."
The water was a mesmerizing blue colour as it lapped against the shore. Each new wave hit the sand with a gentle sound that lulled them further towards sleep where they rested a little way up the beach.
