I need to talk about the Spamtenna comic updates

(if you are interested please read)

(Also how to see the old version of the comic at the end)

I've received a few comments about the updates I'm making to Spamtenna Undoomed, and I want to make something very clear:

This is not an artstyle change.

I don't know if many (or any) of you will care that much but it's important to me and I need to talk about it.

How it started

The very first part was only a cute idea I had.

I made a rough sketch of it, the background was still grey and I didn't put much effort in it.

And it was ok since it should have ended there.

People seemed to like it and want the story to continue. I didn't get this much traction on my account since the TF2 days, so I was exited to keep it going.

I made part 2, then people asked for more so I made part 3 etc...

Making things like this was easy but it came with problems:

Two problems actually: the quality and the writing.

I didn't intend on continuing the story so I wrote it as I went, I still feel like it ended up ok but some parts could have been better refined.

I made them very quickly to give you a new part as soon as I could, and I regret doing this. The quality of the drawings are very poor.

Some parts are very rough, the background is the default color, the colors are desaturated some sentences are missing words its all over the place.

(I'm blaming myself for this to be clear)

Why the updates ?

I'm really unhappy with the state of the comic right now.

I see all the other popular comics and also my other art in general and I really don't like how the comic looks.

It's something I really didn't put enough effort in.

So I'm re-doing them how I should have done them from the begining.

I hate that most people know me for a half assed comic when I'm capable of so much more...

But I also know how much you like the silly expressions I made, and i am keeping them !

I'm keeping everything as it was, just putting more effort in it like I should have from the beginning.

The response

Someone told me it wasn't a good idea, that I shouldn't bother...

And, even though they didn't quite understand why I was doing this, it still hurt me a little.

I like that you all seem to like the comic even when it looks like a 3 year old's drawing. But the updates either have no response (which I get, you already read the comic it make sense) or people telling me they preferred the original version...

I'm not blaming anyone, I should have made them better from the start.

I just want to put a project out there I can look back on.

And it came to the point I can't continue it if I don't fix it first.

Again I 'm not blaming anyone, I just wanted to make sure you all knew why I was doing this and how important it is to me.

If you go to the reblog list on any of the comic parts and scroll down to see the reblog I made (there should only be one) every reblog before this one should have the old versions of the comic.

The atmosphere in the my city since the trial against Sarah Everard murderer began has been off-putting, to say the least. I think certain men don’t understand that women will always be scared to walk home alone, it’s a sad truth. Some things I’ve witnessed and endured over the past two days is disturbing. Still, after this, it will remain difficult to be a woman in the UK, like it is across the globe. But some people will act like this is a isolated problem, when it isn’t. And her killer was a police man, from a force that we are told to trust. It’s just a horrifying time.

Background Mini Talk:

This person’s art, get’s reshared, edited alot on instagram or on pinterest well it links you to where it’s being posted to but majority of time reshare with blank credit, i saw it happen once more on instagram for like 1billionth time and i decided to tell the person to please give credit to the artist, to not edit the art itself and add your name on it when it’s not yours at all. they responded back of course to tell me they added the name because they wanted to edit it, if i am correct on what they said then they told me that they do not know the artist at all.

i put in bold a certain statement, because what happens next is that the instagram user either A) blocked me, or B) took down the post, i cannot find them at all nor did i remmeber their odd name at all. Now i am gonna try to find them to see if they did A...cause some do -do this and it’s just disgusting, or they would curse you out if you call them out.

So please if you have the time and you see anyone reposting their art, tell the artist they own twitter and look at that i found out they even have instagram ugh..

I am deaf too and also hard of hearing. I totally agree with ur post u posted. If I have ever learned how to make poses, which It's a struggle to do it honestly. If I ever learned how I'd be making this known and free for all simmers to download them for ESL (english sign language) and ASL poses. No money at all.

Thank you so much for reaching out and I’m so happy to know there’s more deaf simmers! Absolutely yeah, there has been a recent protest with deaf artists against this show called “The Stand” because this hearing person is taking a deaf role. They’ve repeatedly told him that he wouldn’t be representing a deaf person accurately. He ended up ignoring us lmao. I know it’s unrelated but it is a perfect example of how important sign language is to us and like how hearing people often take advantage of it for their own benefits lol. By ESL, I’m assuming you mean SEE? Or BSL?
