it's been quite some time since i last interacted on this blog. i would like to start off by apologizing for the sudden one month+ hiatus and for not giving anyone a heads up beforehand. in full transparency, i just needed a long break as things were getting overwhelming for me mentally and physically back then.
writing is and always has been one of my passions, but giving it your all can be tiring sometimes. i admit that it's been hard for me to continue my work and series on this blog whilst still juggling between school and real life problems, so it was due to that that i had decided to stop writing for a while and to just focus on the important stuff i've missed out on in real life. (in other words, senior year has been hell for me LOL)
it's been over a month since i last updated, but i feel like it should be fine for me to come back here and continue asphodelus now that i've started to adjust myself into life again. it's been a tough month but i think i can deem myself ready to get back at it again.
i won't promise you that i'll be as active as i was before, but i will try my best! i love interacting with everyone here, and i honestly don't want to lose that spark just yet. and although i love writing, i'll still take a break from time to time so that i can focus on taking care of myself. i've learnt from my break that trying to weigh it all in one hand can get so, so exhausting and tiring.
i'll try to catch up with all the stuff i've missed out during my absence, and i hope everyone's been doing great this time around!! (and i hope you're all still here at least lol i noticed that i've lost quite the following)
thank you for taking the time to read this!! i hope everyone's doing well and i can't wait to see you all in my next update (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
and also since i am online right now and would probably disappear again for like a week i'd like to inform that i recently changed phones and somehow all of my asks got deleted 😞 (i hate this app i swear) so if you've sent an ask that i haven't replied to then i'm sorry to inform you but it's gone 😭💔 i never got the time to check them but last time i remember i had around 5-6 so if you were one of them then i truly apologize i never meant for this to happen </3 i never got thr chance to read them too so i'm really devastated
This is a drabble concerning an event that takes place in this Custom Singularity. It is considered canon on this blog and contains important development for Nix. For timeline sake, it takes place between Shimosa and Salem.
Tons of love and appreciation to Dez for wonderful ideas and lending me their Lancelot! <3
Ever since entering the massive tower, Nix was unable to shake a chill she felt in the air around her. Even after discovering that it was her very own parents that created the Singularity, the feeling did not fade and instead increased. It was as if something was trying to warn her about a terrible fate awaiting them but they had to press on nonetheless. Many floors were reached and several battles were won on their journey to reach the highest floor. When they finally entered the final floor, obtaining the Grail was the last step. At least that’s they hoped it would be so simple after all this. It was only her mother that remained after all, just her and no Servants in sight or detected. Just a lone Magus against Nix and the servants that accompanied her.
That room on the final floor was fashioned like a massive Throne Room but one that was made purely to flaunt ones riches. A variety of golden treasures were scattered where ever there wasn’t a space occupied by the brightly colored expensive rug, placed down to serve as a path to the other rooms that made up the floor. At the end of this room sat two luxurious thrones made of gold and adorned with various precious gems with a vibrant red cushion in the seat. It was in one of these thrones that the woman sat, waiting for them with a scowl on her face. On the arm of the throne rested the Holy Grail, shining in the light out in the open. The ruler of this Singularity had short light gray hair and dark brown eyes devoid of any kindness and light. Her attire also spoke of her attained wealth, expensive silk robes dyed with rich colors. How she couldn’t even feign sorrow over the loss of her husband spoke volumes of her cruelty and cold hearted nature.
“I’m not going to be like your storybook mastermind’s and go on some long winded rant.. All I’ll say is I should’ve killed you years ago instead of just leaving you behind at home and you’ve already lost!” The woman sneered as she stood, taking the Grail in hand and holding her head up high. Yugana thought she had an assured victory so long as she held that legendary item within her grasp. The ragtag group before her was just another obstacle on her path to attaining all that she desired. So the grail was raised into the air as it glowed with a brilliant light, the sneer on the woman’s face becoming a smirk of confidence.
A series of inscriptions illuminated on the walls around them and on every floor below them. Even if they couldn’t see what was happening beneath them, soon the echoes of panicked screams reached their ears. The writing on the walls around them only grew brighter and expanded until it was all aglow with light. The most chilling detail was that in only a matter of minutes, the screaming halted to give way to silence. “I didn’t think I’d have to activate MY tower so soon but it has given me all the magical energy I need to kill every single one of you! Grant my wish, O Holy Grail! Bring the spirit of Gullveig to me!” The gold in the room began to melt down and gather around her, melding with the massive amount of Magical Energy flowing into Yugana. Soon the mass of magic infused gold bolted out the large stained glass window, the woman gone without a trace.
Nix wasn’t sure what to expect after such a horrifying scene, seeing her own mother steal the lives of everyone in the tower to fuel some unknown spell. That was the true purpose behind the mana infused Chips distributed to all who lived there. They were like matches to be struck to ignite a chain reaction to steal the life and magical energy from those that held them. This moment of silence only lasted for but a moment before the panicked voices from Chaldea warned of a massive Servant reading nearby. Before the location could be given, a large clawed paw ripped open the ceiling above them to give way to the bright blue sky and falling debris. Nix and the others had to rush over to the exposed side of the room as more of the ceiling collapsed, forming a large pile of rubble that connected to remaining rooftop above them.
Upon climbing up onto the rooftop, they were greeted by a massive foe that towered over them all. Yugana had fused with the spirit of Gullveig and took on the form of a large dragonic beast. Thick layers of gold shaped like scales covered her back, tail, and her wings, even stretching beyond to run along the space between the scales on her pitch black body. Upon her head rested two golden horns, glistening in the sunlight with the rest of her being. According to the scan back in Chaldea, what Yugana had transformed into was a being close to Beast class but incomplete. If she attained more power beyond this island, she truly would turn into a Beast of Greed.
A brutal battle then took place upon that tower that stretched high above the ground. It was a struggle but Nix stayed near enough to give all the assistance she could manage. There was no way she was going to leave her friends to hide somewhere safe while they put their lives on the line! ‘Gullveig’ was getting worn down, one of her horns being broken off and her wings damaged. Despite her injuries, she decided to gain more power to keep fighting. How this Beast went about doing so was unexpected and caught all by surprise. The dragon lunged forward and snapped her jaws at Nix, aiming to swallow her whole. The silverette managed to jump to the side just enough to not be swallowed up as the others knocked Gullveig away from their Master.
“That was a close one!” Nix then felt something warm on her face and tried to reach up with her left hand to wipe it away but nothing happened. Due to the adrenaline, she hadn’t felt anything different after the attack but now she realized there was no sensation in her left arm at all. When she finally looked down to see what had happened, the color drained away from her face. It wasn’t that she simply lost feeling in her arm, the entire limb was gone. Her left arm had been bitten off to just below her shoulder and what she had felt was her own droplets of blood upon her face. A look of horror twisted her features as she processed the reality before her very eyes. She wanted to scream but her throat had tightened, not allowing the sounds to pass besides a few strained noises.
This sparked extreme concern and worry among the servants that accompanied her but completely enraged a particular one. Lancelot, Berserker, had slipped into a feral-like state and made his Arondight take form in his hands. Nix managed to compose herself enough to concentrate healing magic onto her wound to slow down the bleeding. She couldn’t afford to allow herself to bleed out, not when everyone was depending on her! It was thanks to those around her that she managed to push away her shock in order to ground herself. While she could focus, a Command Seal was uses to grant Lancelot the surplus of mana needed to go on the offensive. So with the mighty blade in hand, Lancelot rushed forward to use that Noble Phantasm to cleave Gullveig in two while still in her weakened state.
With the Beast defeated and the Grail recovered, Nix and the others were able to be Rayshifted back to Chaldea as the tower began to crumble beneath their feet. Upon arrival, the Master collapsed from blood loss and was immediately taken way to be treated in the medical wing. There she rests in one of the beds, recovering from not only her severe wound but also the mental and emotional strain from what she endured..
