Can we ask about the urban fantasy au ? 👀👀
@andreaissy said: Oh god same. Urban fantasy aus are just way too much fun. Love to hear about it tho
@impossiblebluebirdcreation said: I would like to hear about this. I want to know about these assignments. I don’t need a whole au I just want to know.
okay, you pack of animals, here goes. for clarity, i have literally no plot for this, just a handful of ideas and Vibes and Aesthetics.
joe: describes himself as a 'hedgewitch'. this usually means someone who ha an ecclectic and informal set of magical practices, and is kind of low-power. joe's certainly ecclectic, but not low power. jesus fucking christ is he not low power.
cleo: zombie, which is interesting bc necromancy is very illegal and zombies are very illegal. puts Some effort into hiding the fact she's a zombie, but has found that e.g. saying "do i look like a zombie to you?" when people attempt to probe is a lot more effective at just shaming people into not asking any more questions. isn't a magic-user per se, but she does a variety of weird fucked up stuff with bodies. relatively few people know about this.
scar and cub: fae! relatively small-fry - they're mortal-plane dwellers in courts centred around locations in the mortal world (as opposed to the Big Boys who are in the feywild-equivalent).cub is a city fae through and through, but scar is a country fae who got kicked out of his country court for behaving too much like a city fae. cub invited him to city, and he went, but he's still not used to it so much and still kind of fucking sucks at the city-specific forms of manipulation and chaos that city fae are expected of.
pearl: either a goblin-gargoyle-gremlin thing, or an alien. i'm leaning towards the alien thing (alien pretending to be a goblin?) just because the genre-break is very funny to me, and has very pearl energy.
grian: changeling. but like... changeling taken in his late teens/early 20s (which fucks you up in specific ways that being a baby changeling doesn't), and not necessarily a fae changeling. (i'm still fucking around with what i want the watchers to be. they're either big bad scary-ass fae from beyond the veil, like oberon-and-titania powerlevel, or they're some kind of angels-and-demons thing. either way, they take people. you don't fuck with them.) as a result, he's, uh, weird.
gem: elf, and herbalist. has a way with plants, runs a little apothecary-slash-plant-shop-slash-random-popup-space. possibly nobility back in her homeland and she's just not fucking told anyone lmao. she just wants to sell plants and potions, okay.
ren: werefolk (werewolf, specifically), born and bred! being a born werewolf means he's more of a shapechanger-with-flavour than a classical werewolf - he's a dude who's a wolf sometimes, and that's involuntary at full moons, but voluntary the rest of the time. has dog ears most of the time, and in-between shift states, but there's no loss of control or violence or anything associated with born werewolves per se.
doc: werebeast by curse. 'curse' includes bite. werebeasts by curse are not like born werefolk - they're closer to classic werewolves, with involuntary changes linked to lunar phases, and highly associated with aggression and loss of control. werebeasts by curse also get a 'bleed-over' effect where the aggression and bestial traits stick even when they're human. doc does a lot of meditating, and also looks... kind of fucked up, even whilst human. he's got an impressive degree of control, though, and doesn't even need to be chained up on full moons any more.
top 5 food
yellowtail sashimi <3
baumkuchen (it’s this super layered german cake and it’s one of my favorite things)
xiaolongbao (chinese soup dumplings but they literally have soup inside them)
yakitori! nothing better than meat on a stick
mangoes!!!! 🥭🥭🥭
ask me my top 5 anything!
Not a headcanon but I made this AU in my head where Izuru saves Matsuda but Matsuda somehow goes blind. Izuru hides Matsuda somewhere and leaves to do stuff for the tragedy whatever and Matsuda gets picked up by the Future Foundation eventually. In this AU, Matsuda eventually informs Makoto about the Neo World Program and maybe has a kinda angsty moment where he confesses his involvement with Izuru
Heheh, nice. I had a similar idea for my “Matsuda Survives” AU, but it wasn’t blindness. I do relish in all kinds of angst set in that kind of AU, though, so this is good.
Matsuda/Naegi interactions are such an interesting idea. Personally, I feel that the FF being HPA-focused would turn Matsuda off them like, a LOT due to his experiences with the HPA staff, and he’d have a tough time trusting Naegi even a little.
He might be a little willing to talk about Junko since Naegi at least knows her and this, in turn, can motivate Naegi into saving the remnants, since I mildly headcanon that part of why he’s so certain they can be saved if because he remembers how kind Mukuro had been.
Since I’m also into Miaya, I do like to think her vouching for Matsuda would be some Good Shit. Real Good Shit. I mean, canonically, they couldn’t have gotten access to the NWP from anywhere but Miaya, so I’m pretty sure she has her own reasons for wanting to help them. And since canon doesn’t provide shit, I’m gonna have to assume it’s because she worked with Matsuda and knows that he’s good deep down, just...very messy. Very complicated.
impossiblebluebirdcreation replied to your post: im not very good at analysis and reading subtext...
I’ve heard a theory that Ouma may have been serious about the mercy killing at some point in time but I doubt remember the details of the theory other than it sounded intresting
The only good Ouma theory I ever read was about how his entire character is a smear campaign against DICE because they reject and revolt against the whole sensationalized murder thing that society had going on. It doesn’t match up with the canon perfectly because canon is a complete fucking mess, but I did really love the ideas presented. Wish I had a link to it or smth...
I think you answered this before but I'm not sure: Can one make a blog like this one for a different fandom?
Yes!! As long as all fics are fake on it, go for it!!
Barry is banned from the kitchen because while trying to fry some potatoes he mistook corn syrup for oil because it wasn't labeled. He proceeded to spend 10 minutes trying to figure why the potatoes were sticking together and why they tasted sweet this isn't supposed to happen! At least he didn't serve it because he was so confused on what was going on he got Lup to help him figure this puzzle out... (Based off a real experience I did this)
this is relatable, not from me, but a family member
