Sam was a little caught off guard by the kiss and the nip of teeth that followed. He'd been sitting, eyes focused on the book cradled in his lap. The room was silent, so even though she barely made any noise, he could still hear the soft shuffle of her footsteps. Feeling her hovering close by, his eyes lifted, and offered her a smile. 

The kiss on his lips when it came was soft initially, and he froze unsure of how exactly he should react. It was unexpected, a surprise, but not unwelcome, and it wasn't until her teeth brushed his bottom lip that he leaned forward to return it. A smile pressed against her lips. Like the soft bite had dragged him from his own stupor, and urged him to react.

"Oh, yes, you were right — this is really relaxing,” Bruce said, speaking over the loud noise of the rain as he quickly pulled off his jacket and placed it over both of their heads, trying to shield them from the cold rain.
