besides, instead of biologically male or female, wouldn't sex chromosomes, assignment at birth, hormone treatments, and gender give a more complete picture?

I mean you don't need to know any of that information about someone unless you are their doctor and you need to know that information. Otherwise, all you need to know is someone's gender.
