Hi can you do Brian Quinn x wife reader where your reaction to Q:the musical where your in the audience with his firemen buddies but also your children then transition to where Q puts the boys to the fire men academy and he show's his kids what it means to be a fireman
A/N: Enjoy!
Future of the Department
Pairing: Brian Quinn x wife!reader
You and Brian met working at the same fire department and after chaotic years of friendship, you finally admitted your feelings for each other. Now you're happily married with a 10 week old son, Logan.
Now your little man was almost 2.5 months and y'all were getting the hang of things. Logan was on a better schedule and you were able to get at least a little bit of sleep.
But today Logan and you were helping Q get punished. He knew he was performing a stupid play in front of professional actors. What he didn't know was that instead of actors it was you, Logan, and all our firehouse buddies. Lucky for me Logan was asleep when we arrived.
We took our seats in the front. As soon as the play started, Logan was up and alert. I held him in my lap as Brian came out on stage. When he saw all of us out there he couldn't even speak he was so embarrassed. He continued through the play and towards the end Logan let out a squeal of excitement which grabbed his father's attention. I guess he hadn't noticed Logan was here because he was too caught up in everything else. His eyes went wide and he dropped his head again.
"You brought my son into this!" Brian exclaimed into his ear piece/mic.
"It's okay. You're already an embarrassment. This is nothing" teased Joe.
Brian finished up the play and our coworkers began throwing shoes at him which caused me to laugh. Filming stopped and the guys were done shooting for the day. Brian went out and was talking to our buddies while I walked around rocking Logan.
"Did you enjoy daddy looking like a doofus?" I cooed in a baby voice to which he squealed back, "I'll take that as a yes".
"Look at you. Already teaching him the word doofus" smiled the chief.
"Chief!" I cheered and carefully hugged him, "It's good to see you! You weren't at the station when we stopped by last week".
"My wife was sick, so I had to take care of her. But the guys were telling me all about this little man" he stated, looking at Logan, "You are just adorable!"
"Thanks" I chuckled.
"You know, I'm proud of you kid. You've come so far since your first days at the firehouse. You're one strong woman" he praised, "And now here you are married to Quinn and a mom to a little guy. You've done well for yourself so far".
"Thanks. I bet nobody would have guessed Brian and I would wind up together".
"Oh no. We took bets on if and when you'd get together. Eventually we just kinda dropped out until we heard the news from Quinn, and then we made bets on your engagement".
"Well who won?"
"You're looking at the winner".
"Nice chief".

"So this is where Mommy and Daddy trained," Brian smiled as he had Greyson on one hip and our daughter Carly on the other.
Logan stood beside him. I stood behind Logan, hand on my bump as we were expecting our fourth child. Brian showed them our graduation pictures and showed them some of the training areas. All three kids were excited hearing all of our stories.
"I wanna be like mommy when I grow up!" Carly cheered, making me grin.
"You can baby girl."
I looked over at Brian, even more head over heels in love with him. The way he interacts with our kids, how passionate he is, he is perfect.
Hello! So I love the show Impractical Jokers. And when I’m in love with famous people, I tend to do research on said people. Since I am a Christian, I often look to see what their religious beliefs are. I couldn’t find much information from Google, so I had to do some digging myself. My results are (what I consider) clear evidence of their religious beliefs! ( Also, we already know that the boys went to a catholic school, so I’ll leave that here.)
Sal Vulcano
For the hardcore IJ fans, I think we all know that Sal is Catholic/Christian. But if you still need proof, there are several instances in which he shows his religion.
1. Posts
On several of Sal’s Instagram and Twitter posts (I don’t have Twitter, so I can’t show those) he says “God Bless”
2. Shirt
Sal also has a shirt with “God Bless” on it, in which he wears in different episodes.
3. Lastly, it has been said that Sal is an ordained minister who officiated Joe’s wedding.
James “Murr” Murray
I used to believe that Murr was religious. That is, until I saw this.
1. Interview
If it doesn’t load for you, the name of it is Dom Irrera Live from the Laugh Factory - Impractical Jokers (Podcast). If you skip to 14:20 and play it, you will soon hear Murr say “I don’t believe in prayer; I don’t believe in God.”
Brian “Q” Quinn
This is the one I’m most excited about. I’ve read a lot of articles claiming that Q was an atheist, like Murr. But then I watched this video and it proves that Q is, or once was, religious.
1. Interview
If you look at the interview I posted for Murr (posted above) and skip to 54:50, you will soon here Q say “...God bless ‘em.”
2. Impractical Jokers Movie
I've seen the movie twice so far. And in it, Q is seen doing the Catholic/Cross on Chest gesture (forgive me, I couldn't find what it was called) when talking about his grandma Lucia.
Joe Gatto
I think most fans would agree that Joe is religious. But in case you don’t, I’ve found some evidence.
1. Impractical Jokers episode
Right now, I can not remember the episode this was from. When I figure it out, I will either edit this post or post it in the comments. But I remember specifically in one episode Joe saying “Jesus gave you two hands.” to one of the other jokers during a challenge/punishment. Like I said, once I find it, I will post it. If you find it or know what I’m talking about, DM me!
EDIT: I found the episode! It is Season 7, Episode 9. But you can look it up on YouTube under "Murr's Wig Hunt"
2. Interview
If you can’t access the video, the name of it is Impractical Jokers - Joe Gatto Interview. If you skip to 2:20, you can hear Joe say “God bless his soul.”
Recap
Sal- Christian/Catholic
Murr- Athiest/Non-Religious
Q- Christian/Catholic
Joe- Christian/Catholic
Now, OF COURSE, the guys views could have changed or wavered. I’m just posting the evidence that I found for those who are curious, like me. And just for the people who may be like “wHo CaReS iF ThEy'Re rELiGoUs oR NoT?” I am doing this : 1. Because I’m bored and have been wanting to do this forever, and 2. for the people who WANT to know. Thank you if you’ve made it this far! GOD BLESS!
A/N: I realize this is painfully long, but this idea had been dancing around and processing in my head for awhile. :)
“I know you’re listening,”
He didn’t mean it. You knew good and well he didn’t mean any of the things that he had said to you. The horrible, hurtful words that spilled from his mouth as a direct hit towards you hadn’t meant a thing. Your Brian Quinn could never say something like that and actually mean it. Absolutely not. There was no way.
He wasn’t the only guilty party. The words of venom and spite that had fallen from your own vocabulary hadn’t been so pleasant either. Did you mean any of what you had said? No. Of course not.
Anger can be such a dangerous emotion. It is a valid, natural, and important emotion. It wouldn’t be hardwired into our minds and hormonal responses if it wasn’t valuable. Anger was important in many ways, but when it bubbled for too long, it could cause a massive explosion. Unresolved anger can push you to intentionally hurt the ones you love. The worst part of it is that the final explosion can be triggered by something so menial and easy-to-fix.
It had been a week since you had seen Brian. The two of you had danced around one another due to being unsure of what to say and due to pride swelling larger than the want to forgive.
You had cried endlessly that night after he left. In hindsight, it was a stupid fight. It was an argument that wouldn’t have lasted longer than half an hour if there hadn’t been some previous, unrelated fights that had been buried and untouched.
The two of you had been exhausted that night, and sick of plans getting canceled due to conflicting schedules. The event for your work had been on your calendar for months. Brian had known about it since the day that you had been informed of it. He had been more than willing to accompany you, but the event had slipped his mind in the weeks leading up to it. The event was in two weeks, and Q had confirmed his schedule to film for the show on that same night. Now he couldn’t go, and the fury that you felt burned hot in your bloodstream.
It had all fallen apart right then and there in your kitchen. There was no buildup or segue into the war of a fight that ensued. The words expelled loudly and harshly with no warning nor mercy. Out of frustration and lack of getting anywhere, he left your apartment in a cloud of rage without a single word or sign of reconciliation.
The both of you were tired, disappointed, and beyond hurt for the days to follow.
Sunday
The morning after your fight was brutal. Sleep hadn’t come easy, and the killer headache throbbing against the thickness of your skull most definitely didn’t help the case. When the morning sun had come up, the first thing that you had done was check your phone to see if he had contacted you.
Nothing.
You sat up in your bed slowly while being careful not to irritate your head any further. The side of his bed that he slept on when he stayed over caught your eye. Seeing it empty and feeling it’s chill under these circumstances pained you. A subtle twang in your chest caused you to sigh softly. The guilt hadn’t wasted time in plaguing you. The regret and remorse for what you had said (or more like screamed) at him was setting in and setting in hard.
Even with your beginnings of a guilt trip, you were still unbelievably angry with him for being so irresponsible. He had known about this event. It wasn’t like you had surprised him with it. It was disrespectful to you, and that was something that you were reasonably upset for.
Getting out of bed was your first attempt at getting a start on your day. For once, you wished it wasn’t a weekend. Most of the time, you had weekends off from work, and now you wished you had it to keep your mind of of things....off of him.
You didn’t dare to leave your apartment that day with the fear of running into him or one of the other guys. Deep cleaning your home was what you settled for. You figured that wiping down the counters, scrubbing the tiles in the bathroom, and even sweeping behind the refrigerator was a better outlet for your feelings compared to other things. As you were dusting the living room, you made it to the coffee table, which was home to your favorite picture of Brian and you.
A friend of yours had taken it at a wedding that you had attended about a year before. Brian had looked so wonderfully handsome that night. He spent the entire evening commenting on how beautiful you were, and how amazing you would look in a wedding dress of your own. The involuntary smile that appeared on your face came from pure reminiscence of a happy memory. He had spun you around on the dance floor under the twinkling, decorative lights.
It didn’t take long for the events from the night before invaded that memory before you could enjoy it too much. The picture frame was set back down on the glass table, and you rushed back to cleaning until the sun went down that evening.
At least now your apartment was squeaky clean and lemony fresh. But it felt so lonely without him. He was a huge part of your home.
No home compared to him.
—
Q’s day had gone in a similar fashion. He woke up much later in the morning, disappointed to see that you hadn’t texted him. Unlike you, he still had work, the whole foundation of this ongoing fight. The same twang you had began to feel was twice as strong in his chest. He even felt a little sick to his stomach. Although he didn’t admit it often, Q’s feelings often manifested themselves more physically.
Everyone could tell he was off from the second he walked in to the moment he walked out that night. The boys had figured something had happened between you two, because that was the only time they ever saw him down about anything. He had been acting so strange, in fact, that even Joe made a note to talk to him before they wrapped up for the night.
“Is everything okay with you, bud?” Joe had asked curiously.
Q’s excuse was strong, but his eyes said it all.
“I’m fine. Just not feeling it today, I guess.” He said.
Joe knew he was lying. The four of them knew each other way too well. However, Joe decided not to push it. Joe trusted Q enough to come to him or one of the others if he needed counsel. Although, Joe did pose his next question.
“Okay. How’s [Y/N] doing?” He wondered.
That’s when remembrance and hurt flashed across his face. He thought about you. He thought about the way that you had gotten so upset with him. He never seen you get that angry that fast. He could still hear your frustrated tone and overly stressed voice in his head like you were standing with him right then. Brian was still angry at the way you had screamed at him for one mistake...but he knew he was at fault. He didn’t exactly handle your reaction as well as he could’ve.
It wasn’t until he looked at Joe that he realized he had yet to answer his question.
“She’s fine. Busy with work.” He partially lied.
Joe still sensed a lie, but he still kept the peace.
“Alright. Well, if either of you need anything, you know just to give me or Bessy a shout.”
Brian returned the first genuine smile of the day and wrapped his basically brother in a hug. Brian drove home in complete quiet. He tried to drown his thoughts with the loud ringing of pure silence.
And he tried not to think of you the entire way home.
Monday
The next day came slowly. For once, you were itching to go to work. You showed up to your office 45 minutes early just so you could be occupied longer. You downed coffee like it was water. Sleep doesn’t come easy when you have guilt hanging over you like a dark cloud. You had worked straight through the morning and buried yourself in as much as you could to stay occupied.
Lunchtime came around quickly, and you were starving despite the pit in your stomach. Monday was usually the day that you and Brian met for lunch for your break. Out of habit, you reached for your phone to text him, but stopped short. Your hand hovered over your cell phone that was sitting on your desk. Should you ask him to lunch?
I mean, anything can be fixed over pizza, right? You had thought to yourself.
You bit the inside of your cheek in debate. The pressure in your chest was growing slightly as you hesitated. With a defeated sigh, you left your phone where it was and turned your attention to a pair of peering eyes in the doorway into your office. Your coworker (and best friend) was watching curiously as you had this serious internal battle with yourself.
She had spotted you enter the building early that morning, and had watched you make a beeline to your office. This was out of character for you, because you always made time to speak with her when you first came in.
“Hey. I figured you’d be out with Brian by now.” She said, inviting herself into your office. When she didn’t receive and answer, she put two and two together. “Boyfriend trouble?”
The simple nod of your head was an understatement of a response. The rundown that you had given her was brief, but it covered everything in a shorter amount of time. That was the first time that you had admitted out loud and to someone else that you felt just plain terrible.
“I don’t want to go to the event without him. But he’s the one that messed up. I feel bad for getting so upset, but how could he plan something over it?” You stressed to her.
She had listened carefully and considered each side of the story.
“Well, it does seem like it was an accident. I mean, he would never intentionally do something to put you in a bad spot. The event is still almost two weeks away, I’m sure there’s some way you can work something out.” She began. “You don’t want something as silly as this to be your downfall in your relationship.”
Her words did sink in. You offered an understanding lull up and down of your head. You surely didn’t want this to tear you apart. The two of you had been through way worse.
Surely there was a solution to this...right?
—
It was now Q’s turn to keep himself at home. He had slept maybe an hour the night before. Over the last several months, the two of you had been taking turns staying at each other’s homes. He had been planning to ask you to move in soon, considering that he had been thinking about proposing when the time was right.
He didn’t get out of bed until almost lunch, and only because his hunger had gotten the best of him. He also realized that it was Monday, and time for your usual lunch date. He sat up in bed and glanced at his phone on the bedside table. His head spoke before his pride could get in the way.
Come on. Just text her. I mean, anything can be fixed over pizza, right?
He picked up his phone, taking a moment to stare at the picture of the two of you saved as his lock screen wallpaper. With a groan, he set his phone back down almost immediately. He couldn’t bring himself to do it. Not yet anyways.
He needed a shower to clear his head, or at least make him feel physically better. She shuffled into the shower, and he would confess that the hot water was a blessing. He let it run down his face in an attempt to ease his racing mind. The pressure in his chest was just so heavy and unrelenting that it was maddening.
He reached for the soap, only to accidentally grab the hot pink bottle of women’s shampoo that belonged to you. He insisted that you leave a set of soap at his house for your unannounced visits. Although, you always joked that he secretly used it so he could smell like you. He loved the scent of your favorite shampoo. He popped open the lid, the familiar, fresh scent he admired filling his nose.
His head fell back and a sigh released from his sternum. This was crazy. It was such a stupid thing to fight over. He could just change his schedule or back out. After all, he had committed to you first.
He stepped out of the shower and ignored the way that the cold tiles chilled his feet. He used his hand to wipe the fog from his mirror. He was met with red, exhausted eyes and a heart that longed for the one he loved.
Tuesday
The week was progressing steadily, as did the heavy feeling in your heart. Sleep had become a foreign subject to you, and coffee had become a necessity. The dark circles under your eyes couldn’t be missed, and your energy levels were at an all time low. You had tried so hard to stop thinking about him. And now you couldn’t stop thinking about him.
You had unintentionally finished all of your work for the week, and were now resorting to other means of busying your mind. Coming up with a solution was now a priority of yours. You thought about telling your boss that you wouldn’t be able to attend the event due to “family issues”.
You were absentmindedly spinning back and forth in your chair when you heard your phone ring. You picked it up lightning fast, thinking it was Brian calling. Much to your disappointment, it was only another friend of yours calling to check in. You answered the call, telling her you had been too busy with work to call her sooner.
“Yeah, I’m good. I’m just slammed at work right now.”
Your pal who was not that great at picking up on hints rambled on.
“I bet! The event coming up quick! I’m so excited to get to meet your coworkers.” She said happily.
You were confused for a moment before remembering that your beloved college friend was coming to New York just to visit you for the event. This was a problem, because now you had to go to the event. She had yet to meet Q as well, which was another reason you had been so excited. This situation was beginning to get overly-complicated. To spare her any stress, you just faked a happy tone and quickly ended the conversation.
Your heart seemed to be getting heavier as each day went by. Why was this so hard? Why couldn’t you just suck it up and apologize? The simple answer was your pride. The real answer was fear of how he’d respond. After all, you had no idea how he was feeling. Was he still angry? Did he even want you anymore? Had there just been too much tension to recover from?
You had no clue and not a answer to any of those question. You sank farther into your chair, and on the verge of tears that just couldn’t stop once they started. The cellphone sitting on your desk was like a beacon to your eyes. You couldn’t stop looking at it, and you couldn’t stop being tempted to use it.
You slowly took it into your hand, quickly unlocking it to avoid seeing your screensaver picture of him. You went straight to your text messages, your heart skipping a beat when you came to his name. Your thumb was just a centimeter away from tapping his name. What would you even say right now? An apology over text just seemed so shallow. Especially after a fight like that. After a few seconds of anxious hesitation, you set your phone back down and went through the rest of your day in a hazy fog.
It seemed that this was coming to a dead end, and you were beginning to think that you’d be in this rut forever
—
It was raining in Staten Island. The skies were cloudy and gray, much like Brian’s current demeanor. He just sat and stared blankly out of his living room window as raindrops slid down the glass. Thankfully, his outside shoot for the show had been canceled due to the treacherous weather. He was positive that he wouldn’t have been able to make it through the day.
He was stressed beyond imagination. So much to the point where he was beginning to feel physically sick over it. He couldn’t stop thinking about what he had said to you. He had basically told you that your work wasn’t nearly as important as his. How could he say that to you? You adored your job. You loved being a writer. It was like a dream job. The fact that he disrespected that was killing him.
And that was only part of what he had said to you.
He felt a warm, fuzzy presence rubbing against his leg. He looked down to see Brooklyn purring contently. You would never admit it to him, but Brooklyn was your favorite of his furry friends. He knew you had always bonded with Brooklyn the most, which he understood. He scratched the friendly feline’s ears which earned him a satisfied round of purring.
A buzz in Brian’s pocket quickly diverted his attention and he basically snatched his phone out of his pocket. It was only a notification from Twitter, which was not what he had been hoping for. He groaned as he threw his phone next to him.
He basically stayed in that same spot all day. Wishing, hoping, and regretting -- watching the rain endlessly fall from the sky.
Wednesday
It was the middle of week. 4 days had gone by. No calls or texts from him. Not a single, solitary word.
Your behavior was becoming prominent to everyone you knew. Your best friend/co-worker was now desperately worried. She was constantly dropping by your office to make sure you were okay. You had missed calls from both of your parents due to your failure to check in with them. Even your boss had suggested that you take the rest of the week off and work from home.
You did finally get some sleep on your leave, but not nearly enough to re-energize you. You had practically barricaded yourself in your office at home. Writing drafts of dozens of possible articles to be published in the coming weeks.
You had even began to write an article on the effect guilt has on a person’s mental status. And did that one hit home.
Joe, Murr, and Sal had practically been blowing up your phone trying to figure out what was going on. So, now you knew that Q was feeling pretty lousy too. Unfortunately, none of the guys had been very specific. Only saying that he was acting “off” and “distant”. That didn’t mean he wasn’t angry.
Maybe his “distance” was his way of trying to make a decision about your relationship. Maybe this was his breaking point. Maybe you had gone too far, and said something neither of you could recover from. You didn’t want things to end. You needed him. You loved him. You couldn’t live without him.
But things weren’t looking promising. It was possible that maybe the end of your greatest story was on the horizon.
And if it was coming, it wouldn’t be a happily ever after.
—
Wednesday morning was probably the hardest day for Q during this debacle. He woke up with a striking headache, most likely due to the lack of good sleep and endless worrying. This was the worst he had felt in a long time. He didn’t get worked up very often. In fact, he couldn’t think of one time in his life he had been this upset about something.
It was just a stupid fight. A worthless argument that he wasn’t even mad about anymore. He was a stubborn guy. He didn’t want to admit he was wrong even though he knew he had messed up. Both of you had reacted way too quickly and harshly. Just goes to show, anger is a dangerous emotion when not taken carefully.
He sat up in bed that morning, perhaps a little too quickly. A rush of pain went straight to his head, causing him to immediately rub his hands over his face. Once the blood rush had stopped, he saw his phone screen light up. He was confused to see your best friend’s name in his messages.
He quickly opened it, ignoring the missed calls from his worried friends. The message read:
Hey, Brian. I’m worried about [Y/N]. She seems really occupied with something else...almost like she’s debating something. I really wish you would text her.
Debating something? What does that even mean? He sat there pondering over her words for a minute, before a possible answer crossed his head.
You weren’t going to break up with him, were you? Tears immediately filled his eyes. No. You couldn’t. You would never make that kind of decision this quickly and over something like this. There’s no way that’s what you wanted. Without hesitating, he switched over to your name in his messages and typed out a text.
Hey...I really need to talk to you.
He read a few times before deciding it was too vague. He deleted it, and typed a new text;
[Y/N], I’m really sorry. We need to talk.
No. That wasn’t right either. He typed and deleted at least 4 more texts. Why was it suddenly so hard to talk to you? How was he supposed to sound sorry and loving at the same time? That was when another thought crossed his mind.
What if she doesn’t want to talk? What if this is it for us?
His stomach suddenly turned, his feet automatically catapulting him out of bed. He hurled into the toilet, the pounding in his head returning and refusing to go away. When he had nothing left to return back up, he slid down against the bathroom wall.
He couldn’t imagine himself without you. What would he do with himself? What was he going to do with the diamond ring waiting in his dresser for the right time to ask you to spend forever with him? How was he going to live without you?
He sat there trying to collect himself, trying to convince himself that you weren’t even thinking about breaking up. Little did he know, you were actually worried about him breaking up with you.
His head was throbbing, his body was shaking, and his heart was hurting. He ducked his head between his knees and sobbed silently, his only desire was you to be right by his side.
Thursday
Your work event was almost a week away, and the weekend was right around the corner. You finally returned your mom’s calls, assuring her that everything was fine. You had her convinced for now, but you could only put up this facade for a short amount of time.
This day was a weird day, it really showcased how dark of a place you were in. You weren’t crying anymore. You were literally elbow deep in endless work. You had been working since 1:00 AM that morning. Now it was almost midnight and you were going steady. You had never worked more than 7 hours straight. Now you were pushing 24. You had organized stacks of articles you had typed.
One for sports.
One for opinions.
One for current news.
And one for when you ran out of other ideas.
Using work as a coping mechanism was something you had never done. It was evident that you were going stir crazy. The need to get out of your apartment was strong. This wasn’t healthy in anyway. The autopilot status of your head was unsettling. You were following the same pattern for almost a day now. This was not good for you.
You finally stood up from your office chair, every joint in your body cracking from being in the same position for so long. You had decided that enough was enough. Tomorrow, you were going to get out of the house to clear your head and organize your thoughts.
This was insane. You would be a fool to let this be the reason that your relationship was destroyed. You loved him too much to just let him go. This had to end one way or another.
Because you couldn’t take your aching heart much longer.
—
Q’s Thursday was at least a little better than the day before. He actually managed to get out of his bedroom and start making a little sense of everything. Much like you, he came to the same realization. This was crazy. No, scratch that. This was ridiculous. There was communication error. So what? There were much harder things to bounce back from.
That’s what happens in a relationship. You have slip-ups, you learn from it, and you move on. He needed a day to collect his mind and think about what he was going to do to fix this. He opened his top dresser drawer to get a shirt when he saw the familiar velvet box he had been seeing everyday for at least a month.
He opened it to see the familiar sparkly ring that he had bought prior to the fight. This was what he wanted. To love you, and spend the rest of his life with you. Just whenever it felt right.
He put the box back, and got ready to finally heal his hurting heart.
Friday
It had almost been a week. The days had flown by in the slowest of ways. Which was just another reason you couldn’t wait any longer to fix this. You returned to work, despite your boss’ wishes. You spent the day making sure you knew what you were going to say. You were making sure he knew how terrible you felt and how much you loved him.
That evening, around 9:00 PM, you were heading home when you passed Central Park as you always did. You stopped at the entrance, and stared into the beautiful landscape. You entered on the east side of the park, and sat on one of the benches that was carefully placed. It was cold that night. January was a bitter month in the city.
You had already decided that the second you woke up the next day that you were going to go to his house and make things right. You were aware that there was a possibility that he didn’t want this anymore. In no way did you want that to be the case, but you were understanding of the different outcomes. You looked up at the stars in the sky, wishing that this was going to go well.
“Please...I can’t lose him.” You whispered to yourself.
You felt kind of silly for talking to yourself at night and for wishing on stars. But you didn’t know what else to do. Maybe wishing on a star in your favorite part of the city would hold some promise in your favor. If nothing else, it brought you some comfort.
The remainder of your walk home was calm, and you were ready for this to be fixed.
—
He went to work as well that day. He had a little more pep in his step than the previous days. He had it all planned out. He was going to go to your apartment Saturday and talk things out. He was still afraid, but he was more afraid of losing you.
He was headed back home to Staten Island, when a familiar place caught his eye. Central Park.
He couldn’t help but smile to himself. He loved taking you to Central Park. You had many heartfelt conversations with him there. You shared countless memories in all parts of the park.
He parked his car, and entered through the west entrance of the park. He walked for a little while before sitting down. The cold air stung his cheeks a little, but nothing he wasn’t used to. He looked at his watch to check the time.
9:02 PM.
It wasn’t too terribly late. He had time to kill. He watched as people walked by for awhile. He watched night runners jog on their usual paths. It amazed him how athletically productive some people were.
He took note of how beautiful it was that night. The twinkling stars catching his gaze. He let out a sigh. This would be so much better if you were there. It was strange though. He felt as if you were there in the park with him. Maybe he was going stir crazy too.
He was watching the stars carefully. He looked around closely, to make sure no one was around before he whispered upwards.
“Please...I can’t lose her.”
He shared the same fear you did. He hoped you would accept his apology and hear him out. He didn’t know what he was going to do if you didn’t. With a final plea to the stars, he left the park and went home.
He was greeted by his warm abode when he walked in. Immediately going to bed so the morning would come faster.
However, sleep didn’t come. He tossed and turned, different scenarios playing over and over. For hours he did this. Worrying and worrying. Finally, he couldn’t take it anymore. He got out of bed, and went to you as fast as his heart could take him.
Now
A simple altercation that could have easily been solved had now become the source of the worst fight you had ever had. Now, a week later, Brian was at your door at 2:00 AM, guilty and scared to death.
His relentless knocking on the door had obviously woken you up. You knew it was him somehow. Perhaps it was intuition or just a lucky guess, but you knew. You were leaning on the inside of the front door, debating on whether or not to let him in.
Come on. All of this, and now I don’t know if i should let him in? What if he breaks up with me? You thought to yourself.
He was leaning on the outside of the front door, hoping that you would hear him out.
“[Y/N], please...” he pleaded, his voice soft and careful. “I know you’re listening.”
You couldn’t help but stifle a chuckle. He knew you so well, but you didn’t know if you wanted to listen. That was your damn pride getting in the way again. That fight surely couldn’t have been the end of your relationship. You two had endured way worse, and this meant too much to both of you.
“Baby, please...can we just talk?” He said leaning his forehead on the door.
You stayed motionless for another second or so, before unlocking your door with trembling fingers. You opened the door slowly to see his tear filled eyes and blotchy cheeks.
You were just as scared as he was. What do you even say? Do you just pretend everything is normal?
“Hi.” You finally said.
You both let out a gentle laugh, leaving him still lingering in the doorway. You finally stepped aside when he didn’t say anything.
“You wanna come in?” You offered.
His face brightened a little, his handsome grin appearing gently. You felt so ridiculous for feeling so deprived of him. Everything the two of you had planned to say was out the window and forgotten. It had only been a week, it wasn’t like he was returning from war. However, a week felt like eternity when your life together was on the line. You closed the door after he entered and watched him awkwardly shuffle his feet for a few moments.
“[Y/N], I’m really sorry...I don’t know what happened or what got into me, but...I’m sorry.” He said with a quivering lip.
Your legs felt like jelly, your heart racing to match it. Somehow, you were now pressed up against the outer wall of your kitchen, just wanting to fall into Brian’s arms and forget everything that had happened.
You leaned upwards, kissing him softly. He was quick to return the kiss, both of your hearts fluttering. It was only a second after the kiss where you simultaneously confessed.
“I missed you.”
A small, startled gasp and slightly widened eyes sent the both of you barreling into laughter. He kissed you again once your laughter subsided, your fear completely gone.
“I’m sorry, Bri. I shouldn’t have gotten so upset, it was my fault.” You said feeling his hands trailing your legs.
“No, it’s my fault, I was the one who forgot...but if you still need a date, it seems that my schedule is free that night.” He said with a wink.
“Oh, who ever will I take?” You said pressed against his chest.
He couldn’t help but give a slight eye roll at your sarcastic comment. He kissed you once again, even softer this time. He was taking the step of really taking your presence in.
But now you were here, and he knew you weren’t going anywhere.
“I already have my outfit picked out, it’s that dress that you seem to love...” You said almost in a purr.
His chocolate eyes sparkled.
“Mm. The red one.” He stated with a grin.
You nodded slightly as you took his hands into yours, dragging him further into your apartment.
“Where are we going?” He questioned curiously.
It wasn’t until he noticed that playful look in your eyes and the subtle blush on your cheeks that he got his answer. There would absolutely be an in depth, heartfelt conversation before the night was over. It was mandatory, and definitely necessary. For now, you were basking in the warmth of forgiveness and a fresh continuing point.
You both were smiling uncontrollably. Almost 7 days of a fight was resolved in less than 10 minutes. Neither of you got any sleep for the rest of the night, but for the best reason possible.
Everything was okay now. And now, perhaps, you would have your happily ever after.
NSFW thought coming your way but like-- Lazy Sunday mornings with Sal, a crack in the curtains brings you out of your sleep, and his arm is protectively around your waist like a bear trap. You smile, settle back to sleep, and the soft grumble of his sleep riddled self shifts you again, you wriggle back against him, surprised when he ruts his hips against you slowly and moans like a porn star. You weren't pushing back to elicit a reaction, it was just flirty sleep play, but the thick appendage firmly pressed against you is the best way to wake up, so you further the teasing. More wiggles, pushing back on the buldge, and it's eye roll worthy how his arm tightens around you, his hips bucking harder in his sleep riddled state. Sal is blissfully unaware of his own lust, it's just another cloud that floats past him.
