Hey, I have no idea if any of y’all would be interested in this sorta thing, but my Boy has a blog over on Wordpress!
It’s not a personal blog; it’s more academic. It’s focused on: “Business and Management, Productivity, Social Change, Spirituality, Storytelling, and Discussion.”
It’s called Observations of a Changemaker, and it’s all about the sciences and theories behind Changemaking. I think the best way to describe this would be to copy/paste his own words, so here’s an overview courtesy of my lovely Ben, who is super sweet, really interested in making the world a better place, and super freaking smart. (Like, seriously. I’m gonna brag here for a second: he reads textbooks for fun, memorized the entire world map and country flags, and his IQ is in clinical genius range. He’s a boss.)
“Changemaker (n) – A term coined by the social entrepreneurship organization, Ashoka, meaning one who desires change in the world and, by gathering knowledge and resources, makes that change happen.
“The term changemaker is simple to understand, just from the words it’s made from. In fact, I can guess that in coming to this page, you’re wondering two main things: what kind of “change” does the term refer to, and what makes changemakers different from others.
“So, what kind of change do changemakers seek? For the most part, the only change that really matters: social change, or any other kind of change can help people. Changemakers can be described as social entrepreneurs, activists, or any other number of titles, but there really is not decent description aside from Ashoka’s new word. Changemakers share the same basic motives as business entrepreneurs: achieving a change that will not only help the state of man, but reach as many people as possible.
“There is one main difference between changemakers and the rest of the world. Most people desire change; many know what they would like to see different in the world, and some even know how it could be done best. There is a higher class of people who act to see their change happen; many of these fail. However, this is where changemakers differ: they make their change happen. Using a combination of knowledge, resources, and determination, they push through until their dream becomes truth, and then push some more. Changemakers are the force of social evolution; everyone can become one, and everyone should.
“This blog seeks to do to things: one, offer some small insight into the spiritual and personal life of a hopeful future changemaker; and two, more importantly, provide the tools and knowledge required for changemakers accomplish their noble goals. Observations is a gathering place for changemakers to learn, share, and grow. I hope to engender genuine discussion among readers and fellow changemakers; please read, comment, and enjoy!”
