This simple but tasty dessert is a caramel apple puff galette, which combines the tastes of caramel, cinnamon, and fresh apples. With just a little work, the puff pastry makes it easy to make a beautiful and impressive treat.
Ingredients: 1 sheet puff pastry. 2 medium apples, thinly sliced. 1/4 cup caramel sauce. 1 tablespoon lemon juice. 2 tablespoons brown sugar. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1 egg, beaten for egg wash. Powdered sugar, for dusting optional.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 400F 200C. Place the puff pastry sheet on a parchment-lined baking sheet. In a bowl, toss the thinly sliced apples with lemon juice to prevent browning. Arrange the apple slices on the puff pastry, leaving a border around the edges. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apples, then sprinkle with brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the apples, creating a rustic galette shape. Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are tender. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving. Slice and enjoy!
