A delicious and romantic dessert for a Valentine's Day date night is chocolate pavlovas. The freshness of the berries and the richness of the chocolate go hand in hand with the crispy exterior and soft, marshmallow-like inside of the pavlovas. Your loved one will be impressed by this delicious treat.
Ingredients: 4 large egg whites. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 teaspoon white vinegar. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder. 1 cup heavy cream. 1/4 cup powdered sugar. 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. Fresh berries for garnish.
Instructions: Set the oven temperature to 300F 150C. Use parchment paper to line a baking sheet. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form in a clean, dry bowl. Continue beating the egg whites until they are glossy and stiff, then gradually add the granulated sugar. Gently fold in the unsweetened cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and white vinegar. Four separate pavlovas can be made by spooning the mixture onto the baking sheet that has been ready. Make a well in the middle of each pavlova with a spoon. After baking for one hour in a preheated oven, turn off the oven and allow them to cool inside for another hour. Beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar together in a different bowl until soft peaks form. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a double boiler on the stovetop or in the microwave. After the pavlovas cool, spoon whipped cream into each well and top with melted chocolate. Add your preferred fresh berries as a garnish. Enjoy and serve right away!
