     HE SCOFFED, ROLLING HIS EYES at the outburst. That’s what she thought. Potter on the other hand… Potter was always up to something. He had probably figured out that Fish and Draco had become friends, and wanted to do something to break it up. Potter always needed to be the center of attention.

     “You might think so,” he started, already knowing where this line of arguing was going to end up. “But Potter is cooking up something, I just know it. You don’t know him like I do.” Draco was absolutely convinced that Harry Potter enjoyed the limelight so much, he tried to get it in any way possible. Positive or negative attention, it didn’t matter, as long as the attention was on him. If only Draco could see the irony in that thought…

     “Once you get to know him a little more, you’ll see it too. It doesn’t matter to Potter what kind of attention he gets, as long as he gets attention. Did he tell you he flew to school in a flying car in our second year? Crashed into the Whomping Willow and everything.” How was he going to make her see reason?!

     HERMIONE PULLED A FACE WHEN she recognized the pin for what it was. “Yeah…” she muttered. “I BELIEVE we have Malfoy to thank for that, but that’s nothing new. Malfoy’s just a malicious little daddy’s boy without a personality.” She surprised herself with her words. Usually, she voiced her ACTUAL opinion on him, especially not to strangers. “Sorry, it’s just…” She waved her hand. “It’s been a lot.” She didn’t want to bother her new - possible - friend with the ins and outs of the Malfoy vs Potter drama.

     She did focus on Fish’s explanation of Beauxbaton. Of course, being Hermione Granger, she had read up on the schools that were joining them for the Triwizard Tournament, but nothing beat hearing it from the horse’s mouth. Fish could probably answer any and all questions she had.

     She took the parchment from Fish and looked at the timetable on it. “I see,” she hummed, her finger scrolling down the different subjects, comparing them to her own in her head. “If only Filch knew,” she chuckled to herself. “He might start packing his bags to move to France IMMEDIATELY.” Her brow furrowed when she realized her words sounded kind of mean.

     “I really wish Hogwarts was a little more like Beauxbatons. Squibs don’t stand a chance here. I have one boy in my year, Neville Longbottom. He’s not even an ACTUAL squib, just…” She sighed, searching for a description of Neville for someone who didn’t know him. “Nervous. And clumsy. But he’s a good person!” She added quickly. “Still, a pureblood wizard who struggles with a lot of subjects. PUREBLOOD,” she repeated. “Yet even he gets made fun of.”
