Im Soo Hyang and Jennie first met on the set of the variety show “Village Survival, the Eight” in 2018. The show was a mystery-themed program that featured eight celebrities who had to solve clues and find hidden money in a rural village. Im Soo Hyang and Jennie were part of the cast, along with Yoo Jae Suk, Yang Se Hyung, Jang Do Yeon, Son Dam Bi, Kang Ki Young, and Song Kang.
The show aired for two seasons, and during that time, Im Soo Hyang and Jennie became close friends. They showed their chemistry and friendship on screen, as they teamed up to solve puzzles, played games, cooked meals, and shared stories. Im Soo Hyang shared that she often visits Jennie’s house with her dogs, and they have playdates together. She also revealed that her dogs participated in a photoshoot with BLACKPINK for their Season’s Greetings Calendar.
On October 2nd, Im Soo Hyang appeared on Park Ha Sun’s radio program “Cinetown” and talked about her friendship with Jennie. She said:
“Aki, Ori and I were invited to Jennie’s Season’s Greetings Calendar photoshoot. We’re both furmoms. My dogs took photos together with BLACKPINK. It’s an honor to my family. I regret not bringing Rai with me.”

She also mentioned that she met Jennie through “Village Survival, the Eight” and that they are very similar in personality.
“We’re both shy at first, but once we get close, we’re very talkative and playful. We also have similar tastes in food and fashion.”
Im Soo Hyang also praised Jennie for being a kind and humble person.
“She’s very sweet and considerate. She always takes care of me and asks me how I’m doing. She’s also very down-to-earth and doesn’t act like a superstar.”

Im Soo Hyang is currently busy with her acting projects. She recently starred in the historical fantasy drama “Kokdu: Season of Deity” alongside Kim Jung Hyun, Kim Da Som, Ahn Woo Yeon, Kim In Kwon, and Cha Chung Hwa. The drama aired from January 27 to March 24, 2023 on MBC TV.
She is also set to lead the upcoming romance drama “Beauty and the Devoted” with Ji Hyun Woo. The drama is written by Kim Sa Kyung, who previously worked with Im Soo Hyang on “Young Lady and Gentleman” and “Blow Breeze”. The drama tells the story of an actress who falls from grace overnight and a producing director who helps her rise again through love. The drama is expected to air in early 2024 on KBS2.

Jennie is also busy with her activities as a member of BLACKPINK. The group recently celebrated their seventh anniversary on August 8th with a special live broadcast for their fans. They also released their movie “BLACKPINK: The Movie” on August 4th as part of their “4+1 PROJECT”.
