A debating of luck (Hajime & Desmond)
Flicking the piece of paper to signify the 'best ranking' of luck he'd happened to somehow get in that fortune, Desmond scratched at his bread-roll-like hair as he peered at one side of the paper and then the other. No matter how much he investigated the piece of paper with the number and 'statement' on it, he could make very little sense out of it. Why would a serious, prone to pessimism fellow as himself get the best ranking of luck? Surely his negativity would have led to a one of a two, he'd been preparing for it: and yet here he was with the highest number.
The slip also implied that good luck would come regarding that which he held away from folk until he really got to know them, and while the highest number could have been brushed off as a mere fluke, added with the message, Desmond felt like whoever had been in charge of the fortunes maybe knew a bit more about the people who entered the draw than he may have thought. Now he was curious to see if others had gotten a similar sort of thing on their fortunates, should they have picked one out.
However, the logical reasoning was a bit difficult considering he had no idea who, other than himself, had decided to enter the fortune draw.
Hm. Well, even if he didn't warm up quickly to folk, nothing was stopping him from conducting an enquiry like this. Was that someone passing by, now?
"Excuse me, young man. This may seem an abrupt enquiry to make, but did you obtain something from the 'fortune' place? I wish to test a theory of mine that the person who wrote the said fortunes knew a bit more about the people entering than they may have said, but need to look at a ticket other than my own to do this."
"I suppose this sounds very strange, and you do not have to oblige my requests. It just seems odd that the 'fortunes' seem to hit so close to home, is all."
Shrugging, the Nurse's assistant supposed that it wasn't something really dire: but still, a mystery was a mystery, and he couldn't help but want to find out more.
A fortune couldn't hurt, could it...? In any case, I'd like to request one.
You have drawn… a 3! Neutral luck!
On your fortune, it says…
'If you grow your hair too long, your head might look like an octopus.'

Academia Mare. Academia Mare...
???
A name that sounded like something pertaining to those of distinct fantasies, but nonetheless, a school. His new school, where home was a distant affair... and in place, confusion seemed to be wholeheartedly welcomed.
It was all blurry to him, no matter how much the thoughts resounded throughout his head. Now residing in what was essentially boarding school was never a subject that A-ya'd ever thought to experience firsthand! Sure, he'd seen them brought up in the past-- almost exclusively in instances of fiction, and an occasional throwaway topic in general conversation-- but to be in one himself? Without any form of prior notice?
...Honestly, that was a bit strange. Off-putting, actually, but there was no need to complain about it at this point. Beating a dead horse wouldn't get you anywhere; he knew that philosophy well, but one couldn't help but ponder about the details.
Of course. Because details were always important! Curiosity was only human; not having any concerns about this place would deem you unwise, so thinking should always be put on priority. Wondering, contemplating, thinking back and in anticipation to a flurry of events-- hopefully, such a neatly printed map would direct him someplace.
A red circle. 'Room 202' was neatly written on fine print, in its interiors, so if he just took a few steps up... he would find... his dorm?
From the looks of the halls, yeah. They defined these sorts of schools, but the idea of sharing a room with someone was wholly discontenting. It was stupid; questions didn't fail to brim to the point of a certain overflow. What sort of roommate would he have? A boy, or a girl? Wait, no, were these dorms even co-ed? If they did, it'd be awfully awkward. Who knows what could happen, the promiscuous side of people tended to come out in these scenari-- god stop thinking. Slow down for a moment.
Though he can't help it, it's merely unease. Finding out would happen in a few more steps. One, two, three!! Grasp the doorknob, turn. Bam.
Deep breath. And just as he thought, right on mark with his predictions, that person of interest was already there. Decor didn't matter at this rate. Screw that. Someone else was clearly here, meant to take away just the smallest taste of a personal haven.
That was only one unfortunate circumstance after another, but he should probably say something, right? Better to be on somewhat okay terms, than to be awkward.
"...Hey. This is 202, right?" God. Talking to strangers was never a talent of his.
application is under /app ! other than tha,t i think everythings... ready... hello....
Welcome to Academia Mare! You will be placed in room 202 by yourself! How very lonely. Well, do try your best and enjoy yourself!!
