The boy wandered around the inside of the campus, locating his dorm room and noting where his classes would take place. After a round of visiting his room, as well as the classes, he took one more trip starting from his first period class to his eighth period class. It was impressively bigger than the bathhouse. Maybe he'd think about getting a job here, too...
Feeling like he could need a breath of fresh air, he stepped out of the campus and made his way down to the shore. He took in the aromas of the ocean and closed his eyes in tranquility. Water held a special place in his heart. He'd put it in his routine to visit the shore frequently.
Figuring he should make his way back he collected himself and turned to leave, but not before catching the sight of a young woman also standing by the sea. Unsure whether or not he should speak out to her, she turned towards him, seemingly had just noticed him too. Their eyes lingered on each others for what seemed like an eternity. Was he being rude? He was getting ready to open his mouth when she spoke up.
"The ocean is wonderful." She smiled, but it was.. full of sadness and longing for something long left behind. Did she lose her home too? He nodded, "It reminds me of my home." Granted, his home was much smaller than the ocean but regardless, he still found himself drawn to it. He felt calmer standing by the shore and on his trip in the boat to the island more comforting than wandering around. His body was stiff and it probably showed. He wasn't uncomfortable per se, just not used to talking to people outside of the bathhouse. He didn't speak a word on the boat or around the campus and the only words he spoke at all were six whole ones to this girl.
Was it okay for him to introduce himself? He didn't want to just leave their meeting at this, not while she had such a pained look in her eyes. She did her best to hide it, but the moment he saw it left an impression in his mind. He couldn't forget it. He felt a lump rise up in his throat, that usually happened when he was nervous. He cleared his throat quickly to push the lump back down and thought, stay calm.
