hiiii, i love reading your Mondstadt lore rambles so much. You seem very knowledgeable, so I'd like to hear your thoughts on this:
What do you think happened to the Imunlaukr clan? Do you have any personal theories on who might be descended or otherwise related to them?
(I have a hard time paying attention to WQ lore as I’m doing it, so I usually get more info from sources online. But I hate the crappy fandom wiki sites, so I always prefer asking people who ramble about lore, especially since its something they love doing :D)
I don’t have a super strong stance on what happened to this family
Although it’s possible for the family to have died out. The sacrificial greatsword lore says that the family was known to die at very young ages. Other important mondstadt families like landrich family also went extinct.
However I don’t particularly care for this mindset just because it wouldn’t a fun story. So I like to believe that there are current descendants however they simply have chosen to stay out of the spotlight.
Seeing how the family prided itself on their protection of mondstadt, having allowed failed to once again protect their homeland from the tyrants would probably cause the family to retreat again to the corners of mondstadt. So that they might regain their honor and continue to protect mondstadt.
If had to point to a descendant of this family I would say Lohen. Imunlauker is heavily connected to the event of cryo, being known as the ice breaking outlander. Lohen had a cryo vision. The clan is known for the combat skill. Many knights talk about Lohen mastery of many kinds of weaponry and great ability to plan battles. The family, long before barbatos came to power, was said to kill for the entertainment of the gods (the shades. Lohen seems to also fight for entertainment but for his own. Ehohc could make sense because the practice of bloodshed for the gods has been outlawed
Lohens design is also very similar to other noble characters. The waste coat and ornate cape make him read as noble character which would make sense if he one. He’s also takes great pleasure from killing poetically abyssal creatures something the lmunlauker clan was also known for.
I also believe that they might have some connect to khaerniah. Unlike every other noble family their name comes from a Norse poem, which is a normal naming scheme for pure khaenriah characters. He’s distinctly noted as a outlander, which could make sense because he’s literally not from this world. Also he’s said to have been greatly disillusioned with Celestia after the fall of Sal vingard, (Don’t get me started on the narrative similarities between this kingdom and khaenriah that’s for another day) this idea that the gods only crave blood is shared commonly by members of khaenriah. Also soon after the fall it’s said that Khaenriah begins its existence, something that’s a little two coincidental for me to ignore
Also the fandom wiki soooo horrible it nukes my phone every time I open it
