Ok, I have a question for my SPoP peeps...
I have a minor pet peeve that I keep running into based upon one specific term, and it just comes from me having done research into the history and use of said term.
If I were to expand upon this, it would be in the sense of “Here’s some cool historical information you might not know! Now that you do, feel free to incorporate or ignore as you wish! Have a great day, keep learning!”
But since it is a pet peeve, I really feel uncomfortable going out and saying “You know...”
(Especially since, given the research that went into SPoP, I doubt this was ever actually part of the *cough* “world building.” It aligns with canon, but may just be a coincidence.)
Long way if me saying...
Anyone interested in me reading up again on this historical usage of the word “Prince” (and by extent, “Princess”) and how the modern usage is exceptionally - limited??
(This also explains why there are so many dang Princes in fairy tales, including addressing plot holes such as “Why did no one notice the King’s son in Beauty and the Beast was missing?” Spoiler: he most likely was never that high on the succession list, if related to a King at all....)
