So all your Constantine talk and wanting more of your writing has convinced me to try Constantine but I haven’t read any of the comics - does that matter?

Ooooh well generally I think not -- Hellblazer was/is sort of niche (within the fandom world at least) and I think most of the people who watched and liked the show did so without having read the comics. I think most comics readers who were really hardcore into Hellblazer kinda hated the show, bc it is very different; we didn’t call it Heckblazer for nothing.

On the other hand there are a few issues that might be worth a look, just to see how the show interpreted them -- “A Feast of Friends”, most notably, is based on the first few issues of Hellblazer and is really good as far as comic book adaptations go, imo, in both keeping to the theme and mood of the original but deviating in enough of a way that it’s kind of a twist even for folks who have read the comic. 

Another plus of reading the comics is that you notice just how well Matt Ryan inhabits John and his physicality, which is like, the best part of Constantine John. 

So idk, I don’t think it’s essential to read the comics to enjoy the show, but it can add a few neat bits of context/dimension to the characters when you do.

My Daily Drawings

Are no longer daily so I feel calling them that from this point on is incorrect and misleading, so I am calling the Daily Doodle challenge over for this year.

I have learned a hell of a lot from even just trying to do this challenge this year, and i made a lot of friends and people genuinely interested in seeing what i was making and doing! I don’t see this as a failure, I did what I did and i am better off for it! 

However....

I plan on attempting this challenge every year, and I am going to practice again into the lead up into the new year. I will attempt this challenge yet again. However for now I am focusing my efforts on University and also a special person in my life.

Thank you for your support and here is to next year, where we will see even more drawings, models and animations. You’re all amazing followers and I can’t that you enough!
