1960s

BIRTH - Friday, May 12, 1961 Melrose was born in Long Island, New York to Julian Jerome (22) and Alyline Genovese (21).

AGE 3 - Saturday, November 21, 1963 Birth of maternal half-sister Sheridan Nichols.

AGE 4 - Saturday, April 9, 1966 Birth of maternal half-sister Donna Nichols.

AGE  - 1968 Birth of maternal half-sister Vanessa Scully.

AGE 7 - Friday, December 27, 1968 Birth of paternal half-sister Carryn and half-brother Martin Poletti.

1970s

AGE 9 - Friday, March 26, 1971 Birth of brother Davian.

Claire & Tinsley.

It had been just over a month since Tinsley had discovered she was pregnant. She told Rian first, of course; and they had decided to let themselves get used to the idea and just give themselves some time to think about what they wanted and what this meant for them, before they told anyone else. It was hard for Tinsley not to tell her sister, but she knew that it was best to wait, wait until their mother knew first. Now it was time to tell them, to tell everyone. Well, not everyone, Tinsley wasn’t going to announce it on Facebook or anything like that, least not yet. She was ready to tell her mother, as ready as she could ever be. It wasn’t like Tinsley and Rian were children, they were both in their early twenties but they knew their mothers were not expecting this anytime soon, as they had both said they were not ready for kids til much later. Least that’s how they planned their life to go. It seemed like perfect timing as Tinsley was staying with her mother and siblings for the week.

Tinsley knew that her mother wouldn’t freakout, least she hoped not; her father on the other hand? Ha, she wasn’t so sure. But that was someone she wouldn’t have to tell for awhile; as far as she knew he was still hiding out in the Bahamas. After calling Rian and telling him she was going to tell her mother and that now would be a good time to tell his own mother, Tinsley sat on the bed that now belonged to her younger sister, staring at the full-length mirror across the room. She was barely showing at all, but knew that in just a few short months, it’d be more than noticable that she was expecting a baby. Taking a deep breath and letting it out, Tinsley stood and walked down the hall to the living room where she found her mother and sisters. She hadn’t planned on telling them together, so she asked Calynda and Catriona if she could talk to their mother alone and afterward, she’d come talk to them about something too. Jonah must have been in his room taking his nap, as Tinsley didn’t see him around. Once the room was empty besides Claire and herself, Tinsley looked at her mother as she sat down on the couch beside her, keeping a few feet between them so Tinsley could turn to her and tuck her feet in typical criss-cross style. “I know that Rian and I said that we weren’t planning to have any children for a couple years, but things have changed. I recently found out that we’re expecting a baby.” Tinsley smiled, waiting for her mother’s reaction; hopefully one of happiness.

Once Tinsley saw tears in her mother’s eyes, she wanted to cry too. It was just who Tinsley was, whether happy or sad tears, if she saw someone crying, she’d usually start too. Before Claire even got to finish what she had to say, the tears were falling from Tinsley’s eyes; but stopped once Claire mentioned the 50’s. That caused her to laugh. She was so happy to hear that her mother was proud of her and Rian, that meant the world to her. Hearing the question about telling her father, Tinsley felt confused. She wasn’t sure how to tell him this. Sure, they were close, but not nearly as close as her and Claire. Or even her and Ronnie; it wasn’t AJ’s fault, but Tinsley wasn’t around him as much as them. It’d be a bit awkward but she’d get through it, and with the touch of her mother’s hand on hers, all those fears instantly went out the window.

“I called him before I came out here, and told him I was telling you so he’s probably telling Liviana right about now.” Hugging her mother, she laughed at being called “momma”. That just seemed so odd to her - she was going to be a mother. Wow. Where did the time go? It seemed like just yesterday she was on the floor playing Barbie's, and now… she was going to buying them for her own child in just a few short years. Assuming she had a daughter that is, if not, then it’d be LEGO® sets and the like. Not that she’d want to force anything on her children, if her son wanted a Barbie, she’d gladly buy him one. Actually, she’d probably do it anyways. Same would go for her daughter, she’d buy her a LEGO® set or a football. Tinsley was a very well-rounded person who grew up loving to play in the mud right along with her dolls, and she’d want the same for her own children.
