Things I did and did not see in Amsterdam and around

Here are some of the images from the journal/zine.

the project took a personal but also humoristic turn. I really enjoy to look at the same things in different ways and make it visible for other people as well. All in all I feel it's a great and interesting way to sum up this adventures in my own artistic way.

Making it a post-photography journal

During my conversations with Selby and Marije, it emerged that the collages with some sort of personal content had more of a special effect than others. In addition, the fact that my time here in Amsterdam is about to come to an end, made me want to reflect on my period here. Naturally, during the last 4.5 month I took a lot of pictures, mostly using my phone.

I decided to use these picture as my starting point, and make a zine/journal based on them. Technically, I kept the idea of a digital collage, but added different approaches as well, and now I see it as more of a post-photography artwork, that also thinks about what is photography now and how we can handle and exhibit photographs in new ways.

initial thoughts

For my 1st/2nd year atelier project, I wanted to make something that includes digital collage. this technique is a main practice in my art making, and I wanted to take this opportunity to give it a place in my presentation. Also, I feel like it is a really relevant and important technique and idea in contemporary art making, since we live in a world that is already full of images, and of course, is extremely digital.

In the beginning, I tried to focused on mixing digital and real-life scapes and aesthetics. However, I felt like a can not manage to get it to be cohesive enough in such a short time. here are some examples of what I did.
