The english version is for iOS and its downloadable here. Although only the prologue and first story is free. Anything else you need to pay for.

hello! Saw the shimeji post on your art blog.. but my java is currently up to date and it keeps saying sometihng about java 6?

The Shimeji program uses a specific version of Java, hence why you're getting that error message. I'm not sure of the official download link, if there even is one anymore, but you need version 6 of Java, which can be downloaded here (I tested the link, it's not a virus or any other type of malware).

Once you've downloaded that version of Java, run the installation and you should be able to execute Shimeji files~.
