Mr. Dan Wells is honestly a phenomenal author and it is flat out disrespectful of him that this paragraph—which upon first glance is just John noticing his gross, little friend is right and that Marci does, in fact, have boobs—made me tear up. Like how the fuck am I supposed to explain to a normal person, unburdened by images, how insanely full of longing this paragraph makes me. How badly I want for John and Marci to be around each other for just a fraction of a moment longer than they got.

I miss her in an insane way, which is poetic in a sense, because the book is all from John's perspective, so one can assume we miss her in a way only comparable to him.
